From what I understand, people put wider tyres on the back of the car (RWD) so that they can accelerate faster etc (no/less wheelspin)
How does this affect handling? I keep thinking that with wider tyres on the back, there would be an increased grip level on the back so the car would understeer more (because the front tyres are still small and skinny)?
Someone I was speaking to recons the car would oversteer more with wider tyres on the back? I can't see how this works...
Why I'm asking is I'm getting 4 new tyres tomorrow (175/65R14), and I've only cleaned out 2 of my rims so I was thinking of just putting them on the back while I clean up the other two (and also just for kicks admittedly), am wondering what the car would be like... The tyres I have now are 165/75R13...

The rims are identical (apart from the size - 1 inch difference) so you don't really notice anything when you look at the car.
