Yep, just crashed my S13 trying to drift.
I busted the left front castor rod and also bent the metal supporting arm coming out to the wheel. The brakes also make a horrible sound when I brake
What have I done!
Can this be fixed?
How much am I looking at for parts and labour?
Can I do this job myself?
What parts do I need?
What is the horrible scraping sound when I brake?
Anyone had any experience with this? Please help!

all i can say it:

it's possible that you've got a stone or a piece of metal caught in the braking system otherwise there's something wrong with the brakes. bent control arm, castor rod, bit of a lesson for you dude. I'll spare the lecture on the foolishness of trying to learn to drift on the road, as long as you've learnt your lesson!
take it to a decent mech and see what he wants in parts and labour to fix it. Unless you're experienced or you have mates that are mechanics I wouldn't do it yourself. The last thing you need is for some of your suspension to fall off or sieze when you're on the freeway. And it's not a good idea to mess with brakes unless you know what you're doing too.
If you have hit hard enough to bend the lower control arm then you will have bent the front crossmember and you probably will have bent the front chassis rail inwards a bit too.
You will need to have that straightened and the crossmember (and the bent/broken suspension components) replaced. And you will likely need some careful wheel alignment as there could easily be some residual displacement that won't show up until you try to drive the car.

dont feel too bad dude, i busted my 7 last friday, wasnt drifting or even goin hard!! was running new diff in (went from normal lsd to an lsd locked basically) and came into a corner, was water in middle, wasnt payin as much attention cos i was goin slower than usual and big understeer and hit the wall! bent lower susp arm, control arm, etc. replaced it all in one arvo, and it drives straight. dont think i bent anything else but i get a wheel alignemnt tomorrow so that will confirm.

It wont cost you heaps thats for sure. Did the same thing in my R33 left front tyre. Everyone does it to the left front tyre for some reason.
Take some pictures, email them off to second hand jap dealers and they will be able to source the parts for you know problems. I'd say about $500-$700.

There is plenty of S13 front cuts getting around and a lot of them have the suspension intact - you never know you luck when you pick up the trading post...... Look carefully for half finished SR20 etc datto projects and make some calls. I would think you could get away with it for under $200 this way...

That'd be because people will usually drift around a right hand corner, on our australian roads being a longer corner than a left hander, and if you go too wide, the first thing that's gonna hit the far kerb is the left front tyre...
Now i think about it, i should probably get that checked out.. why would there be water in the middle of the road on a dry day, goddammit. lol

each time, no more than $300 and thats including wheel allignments, and the last one even included adjustable radius rods!!
just do the work yourself also, save yourself a freaken packet
so whoever said imports = $$ cheaper than your average car actually!

Just an update on what happened...
I replaced the suspension support arm ($40 - Private) and the snapped castor rod ($100 wrecker's) and got a wheel alignment and balancing $80, and it's all good! But now my car pulls to the left when you let the steering wheel go, but my mates reckon it's due to the camber of the road (ie. slopes left), would this be correct?
depends how hard it's pulling. If it's pulling significantly then yes. Generally your car should drift towards the left when you let go of the wheel not try and pull itself into the scenery.
I would go back and read my first reply in this thread.
basically if it drives different after the incident then it did before then u got issues.. theres prolly something bent that u domnt know about
