painting engine bays (without motor removal)

So who has done it? Is it a feasible idea?
The car in question has a somewhat tight engine bay. The plan is to remove the radiator/plumbing/resevoir, wiring, front grill and lights, battery and brake booster/master cylinder and brackets. Most of the firewall won't be painted, just the sides, under bonnet and surrounding areas.
I'll try to get a picture of the engine bay in question so those in the know have more of an idea of what they are looking at.
Rust is lighter than carbon fibre.

I don't have any experience with car painting but, I would have to say that it would be easy. All you'd need to do is remove all smaller obsticles and cover the engine and spray away. Preparation would be the painfull part.
