    N12 Exa Mods

Hi there a mate wants to do some minor mods on his N12 Exa, and i was wondering if anyone has any advice on what to do and what not to do?

He has around $2k he wants to spend on mods, and i was thinking of reccomending the following:

Getting a bigger turbo, it needs a new one anyway (stuffed bearings). What sort of turbo would u guys reccomand? i was thinging of something like a T25. Just after something that will bolt straight on (no stuffing around with new dump pipes/oil fittings etc) and that will do around 12-15psi with a cooler.

What sort of Intercooler would u guys reccomend, it'll need to be something that fits into the stock front bar. I was thinking maybee a Supra cooler as they can be had for around $350-$400 so i've been told....Also anyone know a cheap place to get the rubber rings that joing the induction piping? I was thinking of maybee measuring up what i need and maybbe getting some stuff off turbo cars at wreckers or something similar?

Does anyone know of anyone that is selling a 2.5" or so Exhaust from the dump pipe back to suit an Exa? what sort of price would he be looking at for one off someone?

Also a 'home job' style CAI. I was thinking putting on larger tubing to the airbox from the turb and cutting a bigger hole in the airbox and feed it air from in the bumper bar with as big a tubing as will fit there....will this be legal or will police jump up and down?

Is there anything else anyone would recommend to get done?

Wil the above mods be pretty much 'bolt on and go'?...now i know putting things on is one thing, but weather they all go properly is another thing. Im only an newbie mechanic and im pretty confident it'll all go well from what i've watched/helped out with but there are a million and one things anyone can do wrong. I'd get it checked out by someone who knows whats what first but i wanna try n get it right first time (yeh...riiight) ..

    Cheers for ANY help guys...

yeah what 8odgy said, also try www.nissanexa.com forums under n12.. he should get some more info there.

as for the CAI definately relocate the afm to the other side of the engine bay.

With the intercooler basically any cooler can fit in the front of an exa theres that much room, especially if you get rid of the dodgy grill.

you can use the stokc dump pipe with the t25 but its very very small and wont give you the full potential. but it can be done, i know because i am still using it 'eeek'..
everytime you masterbate god kills a skyline.

The T25 should be a go-er, and you could get a 2.5" dump pipe for around $250.

Relocating the AFM is a good one too, but if you're not interested in that definately have a look at some of the piping infront and just behind the air filter. On my engine, the plastic piping down there got really warped with the heat and melted down, becoming really restrictive. I got some piping from autobarn which i fitted from AFM -> POD -> Atmosphere and it was great.

I bought my 2.5" exhaust off a guy on the N12turbo.com classifieds for $175 in pretty good nick.

    Good luck with everything...
