VH45 can take some boost. I know of a supercharged one. It runs no cooler and only aquamist injection. Its a real screamer considering its still in the Infinity. There is talk of a Z box fitting these.....maybe

The same block is used in Indi and also for the R390 + 391 Lemans car. Destroked to 3.5L and running twin turbos.
Take a look around the web for engine specs of this.

    Power: 208kW @ 6000rpm
    Torque: 400Nm @ 4000rpm
    Compression 10.2:1
    Gearboxes: RWD 4-Speed Auto

    R390 specs

    Power 410.1 kw / 549.9 bhp @ 6800 rpm

Actually I think the Nissan engine will outperform the Lexus
But if your not going to decompress it then go with the Lexus. If you want horsepower go with the Nissan

Did you read about the big HP drag motor ?

how much would it cost to drop the comp?
cause we didn't want to spend to much money on internals mainly on tuning
we are using a sm2 autronic tuned by ray hall
we only wanted to run 6 - 10 psi thought twin vg30det non ball bearing T03's
    with a 800x250x70 intercooler

do u have to change the compression? or can u still turbo it with 10:1 and just run low boost n good fuel

I don't have a barrow to push with either engine, but the 1uzfe has a lot of nice internals (forged pistons, nice rods and very nice crank) how does the nissan stack up.
I would be cautious with the indy engine/nissan engine comparo too, I doubt if any parts would interchange, same for the LM engine.
What are the physical dimensions for the nissan engine?

i might stick with the lexus V8 cause i know it is a tuff engine and stuff
and it is alot smaller then the vh45 and i need room to mount the turbo's
so i think i am going to go with the lexus

    Please check out this thread.

"Plastic tension/guide bodies....good one . Problem can be fixed with the later model tensioners, but not cheap and the parts are hard to get in Oz. Given that the early motors are (apparently) the ones to get from a performance POV and most likely are the ones available to us in Oz, it seems it could turn out to be an expensive conversion in more ways than one. There's also no way to find out from an external inspection if your engine has the problem."

This is a very big unknown on the earlier units.

Do you have to pull down the motor to fix this?

As much as I'd like to get a cefiro and put a sr20 in it, the idea of a vh45 (over vh41!!!) sitting between the struts is pure wet dream material!

I'm taking it that this is possible, since you have other people chucking the '45 in 180s and r31s..?

    A vh45 only costs ~$2200 for a front cut doesn't it?
