how much and where to buy timing light?

I need a timing light. one that is capable of reading the timing on a direct fire ignition with waste spark.

all the ones I have found have nearly every feature, but cost round $500. I just need one that can compensate for cyl 1 fireing twice in the engine cycle and measure timing. I don't need dwel, rpm or anything else.

I have a supercheap one.... connects to the end of number 1 lead, which connects the number one spark plug.... notching fancy but does the job, was about $30 i think.

I have direct fire waste spark.

Try the Hella one. My local parts shop had it for $50. About $10 more expensive than the el cheapo Chinese ones that all the major car part suppliers try to flog off.

how can the cheap simple ones compensate for the waste spark? if you conect them to the number 1 plug your getting twice as many pulses per cycle.
I took the car to 4 different work shops and only 2 had an timing light that would work. one place didn't know what the F*** was happening, one measured twice the revs and was out, the other two had a switch on their timing light that halved the revs counted?

my friends light from super cheap couldn't read the right timing ether?
