KE20 engine conversion, help needed with engine choice.

Well, I've got the KE20 now, now I'm looking into a few different engines that bolt in without too much modification and expense.

Anyone got any ideas? Can be n/a or turbo/super i dont care, as long as i can get it on the road legally.. Price isnt an issue at the moment as I just want to get an idea of what I can do and for how much.. 4K w/3K head? 2T-GEU w/ 3T crank and pistons? An A series motor?

    4A-GZE, 18R-GEU, 3T-GTE, 7K-E, 1G-GTE

These are supposed to fit. Don't blame me if they don't fit.

Where's that 3K-R that Bill posted photos of?

What Grinno said ... except IMHO the 1G-GTE would have to fit into the same category as ripping an SR20DET out of an S15 & fitting an RB20DET ...

So what? You're saying that these cars car handle worse than they already do?

Put in an NA 4A-GE. A 16V will do. I think that would result in a nice, driveable, efficient and reliable car. It shouldn't be too much for the chassis which would be a concern with some of the other hi-po engines people are suggesting.

ask Pro_ke, he's building a tidy injected K series motor for his KE10 Strolla.

13BT or a 1 UZFE would be my choice if you didn't have an issue with the price...

    A 1GGTE will *not* fit
    A 1UZFE will *not* fit
A 3SGTE would be prohibitively difficult and expensive, and I would say illegal in most states due to the weight of the car.

4AGZE is your best bang-for buck conversion, but there are still RWD conversion issues to be had like rerouting of hoses, gearbox selection, etc. May also be borderline on legality, these things must only way 700kg or so... a 4AGE would DEFINITELY be legal but go the GZE if you can do it legally as it's all the same work and you get more power!

An aspirated 3SGE would be an interesting machine...
