    GSR Wagon

I was perussing a Evo forum and found one of these for sale over in pommie land.(Pic Attached). A libero wagon which comes stock with the GSR running gear. I was wondering if anyone's ever seen one for sale in Aus ??

Must be getting older as I like the idea of a fast wagon...go figure.

Do they use the GSR engine or the Evo one? The one in the top pic has the front bar, front gards, and intercooler from an Evo 1... and the bonnet is Evo-shape rather than GSR-shape (even though it hasn't got the vents).

Never seen one in Aust (or anywhere else, for that matter, until now)... but I would imagine they could only be brought in as a personal import rather than SEVS.

Audi and Subaru make fast wagons that actually look good too.

The GSR wagon is called a Libero. Runs all the JDM GSR options.

Thats obviously an evo 3 front bar, but its still running the gsr cooler. The majority of 2Ls or conversions require a raised bonnet to fit the timing cover. You can do with out it, but it requires different engine mounts to sit the egine lower, or on a slant (bodgy), or hack away at the under bonnet material.

You know I never noticed that was the 3 front end on the black one, or the GSR cooler. Mind is still full of seawater from this morning.

Im assuming then theres probably less of these in Oz than genuine Evos right ?? Guessing that people would rather spend the dosh on getting a genuine Evo rather than a GSR wagon imported ??

Daniel - I also love the idea of a turbo 4wd wagon.. They are kinda in shrot supply though in oz except for the Liberty RS wagon.

The Libero GT has a really nice shape - I think the body is a bit weak though on the cc - some front and rear strut braces should help though. Oh and yes its the 1800gsr engine/drivetrain. The RVR Hypersportsgear type R of course runs the EVO but de-tuned - go figgure?

The RVRHSGTR of course was available under raws so there are quite a few in the country, I think they are also sev's compliant.

If you want to import something under the 15 yr rule consider a Eterna ZR4 - these are prety cool being a VR4 hatch - which gives you a lot more boot space but they also look much beter.

I think if I was goin to get something newer the ever popular ST215 Caldina GT-T would be the way to go - 191kw 3SGTE in an unassuming family wagon. Its 4cyl rego and running costs too which is handy.

More handy info from NZMMC. Seems the 95 wagons came with that front mount standard and pre 95 had the GSR cooler. Explains the difference in the two pics .
