    Pipe bending

Looking for someone in the North to Eastern suburbs of Melbourne that will bend 32NB tube (43mm OD). I have the tube cut to size already, and just need 4 x 90 degree bends. I also have the dimensions/plans set. Any ideas what i should be paying? I'm still waiting on some quotes. Only one came back so far, at $25 a bend which seems a bit steep for what should only take about 1/2 an hour for the lot. I've tried doing it myself, but the cheap chinese pipe benders that you can hire crush the tube rather than bend it.

Or alternatively, can you buy mandrel donuts for such thick tube, and then cut into 4 x 90 degree bends?

Tried search and couldn't find what i was really looking for

yeh i think you're right. i've already wasted 5 hours driving back and forth for the farken chinese pipe bender.

one question tho, would this method be as strong? ie welding straight pipe to the 90 degree bends? i'm thinking it would be stronger than the press bends on my previous buggy..

    PM sent to dale

not exactly in the area you wanted but on westall road there is a truck exhaust joint that we have been to several times that is real cheap(if you pay in cash). And will do the work while you wait. I'll dig out the number if you want

    cheers

1 3/4" SS 90' was about $20 each, same stuff in steam pipe was $13 i think. Thats from a supplier up here, that was to supply the bends, not to have your existing stuff bent. Cheaper and less hassles.
