    Holy cow batman!

I guess you'll need a bigger shot to get that on the converter.

it will need its own chassis rail to mount on

That's all the 1FZ stuff they still had-hence the funny numbers of guides and seats.

I wasn't sure exactly how much duty would go down by as I was given that tip by someone in the shipping industry.

However, following receipt of the final invoice this afternoon-which included Duty and GST charges-I can confidnently say IT MADE NO FUCKIJNG DIFFERENCE AT ALL. . fuck.

CUSTOMS + MY MONEY = CCCUUUUUUUNNNNNTTTTSSSSS.

    grrr.

Anyway-I get it tomorrow. All shipping charges will be forgotten once I get my mits on it.

Here are some pictures of the gear that came from Dubai.

The forged pistons (SPS-melb) and steel rods (Lunati?-but unsure exactly)next to stock equipment.

Stock ports compared to the monsters in the new head.

A comparison between the stock manifold and the custom made cast(!) one that houses 12 injectors.

Std cam (right) and new one (left). Yesterday TK measured it at 350thou lift (std), but with 320 deg duration! Intersting combination-but I have actually seen it before in a nissan patrol cam listing-stock lift and huge duration.

I'm not sure what to do about the cams yet, but TK suggested getting the lift over 400 and dropping the duration back to 290-300.

TK has had a look at the head and there are further gains to be made in a few spots here and there, along with unshrouding the valves in the stock chamber. In addition, a bit of a valve seat/throat job will improve things yet again.

The rods will be good for 1200+hp by upgrading the rod bolts (currently 2nd to top grade ARP bolt-so i'll put the top ones in and never worry again)

Due to the fact that a factory intake manifold will not even cover the ports, I have to use the custom one it came with and fabricate a completely new plenum to go on top of it-that's a good excuse to go all-out with internal bellmouths and massive runners-not to mention the infinity 90+mm TB a good friend sorted for me.

1/2 inch head studs look to be easy to do also.

    So it continues.

    Interesting.

The stage 4 full-house Crower cam profile for the nissan patrol has the same big duration/stock lift characteristics.

Can anyone shed any light on this combination of lift and duration?

Maybe it's limited by valve/piston clearance, seems unlikely tho, 320 deg duration is more likely to bump a valve than a bit more lift.
Could also be a lift restriction due to retainer/seal clearance or stock spring coil bind - both can be sorted with some creative machining.
The bits I've seen of this motor are rather promising, not perfect, but a great baseline that only needs a few tweaks.
This thing was a monster before the old motor grenaded, gonna be un-fukn-beleivable soon.

    TK
