Number are down a bit sadly but looks like a few new cars will be out in August and looks like a few U2l cars are going to be running by the end of the year...... we just need a few more and hopefully unders will start to be a feasible alternative to overs.

Cars okay mate its definitely quicker but I has a few issues with the ecu limiting revs to about 8 grand. It looks like we need to re tune the car with bigger injectors as they run out of puff at 6000rpm, hopefully with the bigger inj, ecu sorted, 9000-9500 rpm happiness will be available again and about 15-20hp. I lowered my PB by a second chasing Rodger in the escort but on a clear lap a 1.21 is definitely there and with the extra HP a high 1.20 is doable. I think in the next year I will start building up a 9age 1910cc short engine as the little 1600cc is giving away too much hp/torque to the under 2 litre big blocks

Rookey had a shocker of a weekend, his engine mount broke after the bolts stripped and the drive-shaft fell out. He is now putting a stock 1600 back in his bus and giving Adam the 1800cc for some hi comp, cams, quads, e85 fed goodness.

is there any reason rooke doesnt go 2ltr? same (some may say cheaper) cost, more cubes. Then there is always K20A

Is a 9age similar to dave loftus' turbo starlet engine? For sure chase the extra cubes, until there is more 2ltrs, roger will always have the advantage. Im still debating whether or not to build the honda, current thinking is starting basic (cheap) and running around the arse end of the field, instead of going all out from the start. Just to get some laps in sooner than later.

Any racing in July? I may be home by then, assuming the big blue boss gets it right.

    Cheers,

Steve I'm running the 2jz inj but when we tuned it on the dyno at a mates he had 2 cooling fans the size of house fans and the car kept overheating, plus the clutch started to slip and later found my pinion was completely farked. My tuner got the shits up and just gave it a conservative tune for Fosc at Bathurst. I was looking at the e85 thread on trackchat and the Levinracer guyswas saying his ran out of inj on e85 with 550cc he had fitted and changed to 1000cc inj and picked up HP. I not sure what the duty cycle was, I have a few weeks before the dyno and thought chuck some 850cc sards in and see what they do.

Does the dyno sheet look bad, we were hoping for more HP, my tuner said when he was doing the incremental tuning to 6 grand he expected the hp to keep climbing but it plataued out

    Jeff,

All I can say it start racing as soon as possible, we have Takai starting again, Andy San with his sprinter another guy with a sprinter, some guy with another civic, a swift, so hopefully if we can get 8 or 10 cars out there in unders more will come There is always someone to race with mate and develop the car as you get quicker.

Rookey really loves the 1800cc at the moment and wants to stick it to Rodger with 200cc less capacity. His 1800 will be a good thing once its built.

Yeah the engine will be the same as Daves old engine in his starlet, so it should make around the 230-260hp mark, I will upgrade to 205/50/15 when I do that for bigger brakes also

Rons is on E85, is over 1.9ltr and not on max duty.
I don't even have 850s in Ashlys S14 but I do have 1000s in My GTiR but only because I had them sitting around. Tim rileys Escort with Yager FE makes amazing power and has 440cc and Steve lees 220wheel hp Honda uses 660cc, All on E85, Hope that helps.
If you are replacing the injectors and have a good ECU then oversizing wont hurt.

haha, is the esky still having bulk coin spent on it? loved the epic battles those two had.

re unders, that sounds great. in reality, if anything happens it wont be till 2011, hopefully these extra cars eventuate, would be great to have a real class to race in.

    Cheers,

he is building a new engine soon that should make more punch, I was on his arse the whole time in the last race befored I DNfed, he just gaps me on the straights, he brakes early, corners slowly and only has plenty of punch. Loiue did a 19 in it when he co drove it a year ago and since then it runs bigger tyres, watts linkage and a cr box

The B20 Honda Blocks crack, Thats why most use B18 blocks with Darton sleeves.
K20 is cool but means class weight.

A really good result !!!.... Considering 2 Black Flag drive thru's, the last in race 4 cancelled when a considerate driver dumped all his oil along the finish straight. Race Red Flagged at that point & being the last race for the Championships, was restarted after 15 ...20 minutes for a 6 [?] lap finale.

Congratulations, a really good drive & result!!

Clint was a "lucky boy" with his first drive-thru..... he roared down Pit Lane at way over the posted speed limit. 3 different Marshalls tried to slow him down a bit to no avail Was a good drive thru though! Exited the circuit in 3rd place / drive thru / forced his way into the middle of a pack of 6 cars before turn 3 & was back into 3rd place approx 50 m past turn 3.

Usually ,but luckily not last weekend, the Form-Up/ Pit Lane Marshalls have a Radar Gun & they are pretty quick to report any Hoon driving. Could have been a very different result!

Problem is that most of us would have NO idea of what speed we are doing. No speed limiters, no speedos. Its a bit of a moot point at state level racing imho.

moot point till you get another black flag

anyways, congrats to clint and the sharp team, definately the best racing all weekend was watching clint and adam doing 10/10ths out the front. Clint looping it on the last lap showed how hard both were pushing.

Also of note was the 4th place magna, be interesting to see if it could ever challeng for outright. Oh, and rookie giving shit to the loooouuud and powerful VH commo, was great to watch.

Well done Clint + John - even though you are missing 4 cylinders

On the pit lane speed bit, WP have installed (6 from memory) Dorian pick-ups through the pit lane.

Best thing they ever did for the viability of the track, there was line 6 drivers long all day up in the Tower handing out cash fines for excess speed.

Even Bop's ol mate got caught
