The 13's look nice and period!

I wonder if much *actual* time could be dropped by going to 15's and taking advantage of more brake clearance when you have the same contact patch?? The reason why I question is that I have a much heavier car with bigger brakes and 205.50.15 48R's, pretty easy to pinch the tyres and I don't think the bias is that off. With 195.55.15 R888's it didn't pinch much at all.

Finally got the motor installed , here's a little vid of first start up, small leak at the timing cover and its loud, just open pipes it sounds very angry . Its running a bit fluffy as its running much bigger injectors and needs some dyno time to tidy up the tune for E85 but all and all good times

Just need to spend another day or two, cleaning up the wiring, hoses and fit a new airbox and fix the leak. Bleed clutch, brakes, change wheel bearings then its track time and then bathurst

I will upload a small vid on the dyno whens it reving to 9500rpm

Nearly ready , just waiting for a some induction parts and a new yoke to suit the 20spline output shaft. Not sure how Im going to fit in the airbox, I have fuckall room between No4 trumpet and the clutch m/c. Im thinking a ae92 one with a remote res and doing the same for the brake MC . Im running a mq Patrol 15/16 master .... does anyone know of a more compact one with a 15/16 bore.

    Lack of room

What is this clearance thing you talk about:

I have about 1-2mm of clearance between the end of my master and the box. Oh and the master has been ground down, and the end of the box "slightly massaged" with a ballpeen hammer.
Try an AE71 master, they are side exit and quite compact, as you can see there. I think they are the same bolt pattern too.

Looking good John, can you get away with a 1" brake master? If so wilwood do a remote reservoir one that can be had cheaply.

Car was finally dynoed , didnt make the HP we wanted , not sure if it was a slipping clutch(gearbox input shaft seal is leaking) or atmospheric conditions. We will be back to back testing it against the brothers cars figures on the hub dyno we usually use when the clutch is fixed. We are heading to the track next week so will have to see what its like out there. Engine sounds sweet at 9 grand though

Only real power run sadly then the clutch was slipping

Car has finally hit the track, fixed the gearbox leak and changed the diff to a 4.11 for Bathurst next weekend . The car went well, missed a few shifts on the box due to the closeness of the shifts now, only really used 2,3,4 as the diff was too high. Brake upgrade seems good needs more rear though. The front l/h guard rubs so the guard needs to be trimmed for clearance, car seems to have a heap more sniff in a straightline, I couldnt really judge the upgrade of the wheels and tyres as the tyres were second hand and 4 yrs old, new tyres next week. The car has better turn in but suffered mid corner understeer and was very loose in the rear, also has a bit of a ecu interface fault on the crank angle sensor which limits it to 8500rpm.

Video quality is ass on jewtube, will have a better mini dv in for Bathurst

The Easter weekend race meet is over and what a meet , I knocked about 10secs off my PB from last year to a 2.49 in traffic, the SA guys were 1,2,3 in IP in over 2 litre and Rookey and myself were 1 & 2 in U2L in IP. We had heaps of track time and only had our last race cut short because of a BIG crash involving a WRX at Forrest Elbow.

    Qualifying
    I qualified 29th out of 45 cars with a 2.52.65
I was still working out lines and trying to get braver over the top
    http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/re...4/2010.BATH.Q3

    Race 1
I got blown away by a WRX up mountain straight and diced with a RX 7 most of the race, it was a bit slow over the top but hosed me down the straights.
Got down to a flat to a flat 2.50, still plenty to find
    http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/re...4/2010.BATH.R3

    Race 2
I started well and was in a pack of cars consisting of a few late model v8, honda, rx7 and a Lotus Elise, was getting into a groove with cars of similar pace when the exhaust broke, stayed out for another lap but pitted just in case the rest fell off or was ripped off.
    http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/re.../2010.BATH.R10

    Race 3
Started rear of grid in 44th and finished 26th, passed a heap of cars but couldn't really get a good lap time got down to a 2.49. The car has a mid low 40 in it with a clear track and cars of the same pace
    http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/re.../2010.BATH.R17

    Race 4
I was meant to start in 26th but got put rear of grid again, the timing excel spreadsheet had a few bugs and put a few cars in their previous grid position. I was making may way through the field when the race was red flagged due to a big smash at Forrest elbow involving a WRX. I was a bit po about starting rear of field but it didn't really matter
    http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/re.../2010.BATH.R24

The nephew was very happy as he got down to a 2.33 and was top 3 for the weekend

All in all a great weekend, no rain and no incidents by any of the SA guys, cant wait for next year.....FOSc is getting better and better

great work to john and the rest of the SA crew!

saw a couple of quick dattos on trailers as i had lunch at mildura maccas driving the other way.

I reckon its brilliant that some budget build SA cars can show up the whinging big budget boys on such a regular basis

had a good weekend racing, lowered my PB at Mallala by 1.1 sec
Did a 1.22.8 today in RACE 4 , still have a issue with the car breaking down at 8000rpm due to a interface error at high RPM, will get it sorted on the dyno soon and chase a few more HP
A low 1.21 is more than achievable next state round http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/re.../2010.MALL.R29

Fuck the car is fun now with the cr box, will post some pics of me dicing with a XA GT Coupe, the guys on the stands were pissing themselves, the XA blowing me away on the straights and me being a pest in the corners and under brakes
