MX5 Mayhem at QR on Saturday

This is turn one at QR in the final race of the day of Saturday's V8 Supercar support race. Blue car puts old mate in the black car into a spin at very high speed. How nobody hit is anyones guess. I'm #44 and I was certain I was going to T-bone him. Was able to pull hard left and avoid at the very last second. CT is the orange car and neil-205mi16 is the fluro green one.

Thanks to Marshall Cass for the proofs

That's less than 1/2 the field. There were 29 cars at the start of the weekend.

I highly doubt it as channel 7 were filming.

He is giving me a little love tap in the middle of all that somewhere. Sneeky bastard thought he'd stick it in my bum while I was distracted.

Yeah Kerry was on fire with his new motor. Yep Henri hit Russell in the black car in the lunge down the inside.

Nice dodging, not easy though there as usually there is not much grip to spare

The black car did not have his brakes locked up did he. That 'spin in one place and then have the car roll out of the spin' is not nice.

I was heading down the inside and realised I could slide wide into him, so whipped it to the outside, which you can see in the last shot.

He nearly took me out on a number of occasions when I used to do the Saturday sprints in the AE86 and BRG MX5.

    Don't ya love turn one?

It's hard enough running around by yourself, with all the bumps and so on, let alone with 400 other cars.

The bit Cal didn't mention was that neither he nor I knew who we'd had contact with! There was so much dust and shit in the air, that I had no idea who I'd hit until after the race when Cal found orange paint on his blue bumper......suffice to say that kinda gave it away. I got a crappy start and I wonder had I stayed around 4th where I started on the grid, whether I was the one who would have been turned around...glad it wasn't.
A slow day at the track is better than any day in the office.
