Hi all, just a few questions regarding injectors as I have a difficult situation.
What sort of gains can you expect from hi-flowing injectors?
What are the physical limitations to hi-flowing?
What does it cost?
Who in Adelaide would people recommend?
And if anyone wants to read about my problem...
I have a sohc 1500cc turbo engine (Mazda E5T) and recently replaced the original injectors (were running about 90% duty cycle) with a set from a dohc 1800cc turbo engine (BPT).
The whole show is run by a Haltech E6X so tuning is spot on, but I have found that with the new injectors the car runs poorly at idle, deceleration, and coasting. Apparently the root of the problem is the different spray pattern of the injectors, being designed for dohc chambers it causes some fuel to re-liquefy (if there is such a term) before it has a chance to burn. I just spent $800 for a tune with these new injectors and now the car is more annoying to drive, until you sink the boot into it of course...
...so I'm trying to work out if hi-flowing my original injectors might solve the problem and still provide scope for further tuning.
