    Project XH

Well, I've finally "sat" the engine in the bay. Hopefully now it'll all start rolling from here. Any of you who've seen it in Street Fords magazine might remember how sexy it looked stock!

Then the idea of going turbo.

Then all new suspension and rims (minimal bling)

    Then we get serious

And yes, the engine isn't straight. Gotta sort out the sump vs crossmember clearance issue next. Otherwise, stock XH engine mounts fitted perfectly.

RotaUte: you rock. i will have to go an get a copy of street fords now.
How was the bonnet clearance in the XH?

You're forgetting that the XH ute has the EF type front end crossmember under it. I'm pretty sure the sway bar is at the rear of the crossmember then. It wouldn't foul in the same way it does on our X cars. I take this to mean you aren't running one at all then? I did that for a while and then ended up spacing it down a bit to clear. A custom sway bar is pretty much the only way.

I have been scoring quite a few turbo parts for my NA twin cammer. Also just bought an XG ute. NFI if i will put it in that or just use it as a parts hack until the next dream machine comes along.

watching this thread with keen interest!

Well, it does have coil overs and retrofitted BA leafs (they bolt in :P) and hopefully soon big stoppers. Would be interesting to launch it off the transbrake at Goulburn airport.

I hear Mossy is introducing a burnout comp, so you might win something

Out of interest, I'm putting the same motor into my '68 XT.

I sent an email to Microtech a few months back to see if any of there ECU's were compatible..............they said no!

Can ya provide some info on the Microtech that you are going to use.........?

If we go Microtech, then we're no gonna run cam control. Brad from Atomic Performance has cam lock offs to over-ride the cam control. Tell him Boxer from Street Fords sent you.

ps:PSi13L... I have a mint set of XT Falcon tail lights that I'm not doing much with. Was thinking about chucking them on Ebay.
