Here we have an average AE82 corolla that was to have been wrecked, but now has been given a new lease on life.
Was bought from a fellow member on here for substantially less than asking price.....
Its got a standard 4age bigport with extractors and 2 inch exhaust, so nothing real special in the performace department, emphasis will be on handling and brakes in the future.
Anyway, after lending the car to a fellow workmate who needed wheels for a while, and slapping on another 12mths rego, i finally got to work making the pig a little more trackable.
As it stands today it probably owes about 2.5k including rego till May 08.
Plans are for a nice and cheap introduction to track days starting early 08.
Parts replaced so far include:
New front KYB Struts (Existing lowered springs seemed rather new)
New Front Rotors and pads
4 new engine mounts
New set of Ebay 15 x 7 inch wheels using existing tyres (Oringinal rims all buckled ,1 odd)
Set of Signature Sway bars (Rear adjustable)
New 2nd hand rear 2.5 inch muffler
New HT Leads, plugs, filters and Oil
New rocker cover gaskets
4 new brake line hoses
Rebuilt starter motor by me
Replace broken Headlight and cracked Grille
Next are plans to gut the interior, replace drivers seat with a better race orientated seat, install an Oil Pressure guage and add some extra camber to the front and rear via adjustable camber kits and get a decent wheel alignment.
Also on the lookout for some ae111 Corolla twin piston front brakes calipers and rotors to make it stop.
That is all.
