Having never had any experience with a proper drag car, can u explain how the floating axles work? From what i know, you use floaters so that if you snap an axle there's no chance the wheel will sieze and as such you won't spear into the wall?
I assume that (from the pictures) the axles are splined both ends?
if u snap an axle, even with a floater u will spear the wall, but with the floater set up the axle is only in torsion, there is no bending moment on it. On a standard axle the axle that is in the diff is also holding the wheel, all the work is not being done by the wheel bearing, where it is in a floater setup.

its more if you snap a axle the wheel wont fall off... you can still control a car on 4 wheels, when it is on 3 you cant steer
