Rear diagonal cross braces don't run all the way down?
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

The gussets go on after the tubes are fully welded.

This would be a pre-inspection inspection... make sure all of the bars are correct etc. before final welding. Not really comparable to your average IPRA cage that takes a 2-minute look for the logbook.

Molly is what they weren't happy with, i went out guns blazing, they have apologized.

I now have it in writing.

BTW thats was the pre inspection, no point having gussets for wrong bars.

One other thing they weren't happy with is the seat belt mount but that's only an engineers certificate. Cams bloke actually liked it.

I was surprised, could nearly fit the tunnel ram on as well. Those little 2 litre engines are rather big. Take up as much if not more room then a v8.

I still maintain that this needs to be painted that revolting factory pale blue colour and should have a fake WRX scoop on the bonnet!

So what was the problem with the design in reguards to cams?

What is the reason for using some square section and tube section for others?

Any reading i can do on this type of chassis design?

Out of curiosity, why did you go SHS for the chassis and then RHS for the cage. Why not RHS all the way through?

Not picking, just for my own learning

Very easy to mount stuff off, from my calcs it wasn't that much difference in structural rigidity. In some areas its stronger, with the round working as a sway bar under twist.

Coolios, thats good enough for me for now. I was just interested given my predisposition to wanting to create a GroupB esque hillclimb special one day.
