Yeh the Transams are pretty slow, when I saw them at QR last year anyway.

Thing i don't like about their rules is to make a car fast would cost more then what this thing has cost...
Put the old girl in the shed and go nuts on the excel mate.
Better to have one good car out on the race track than 2 or 3 one day they will be finished cars.![]()
That is good advice. Just enter street sprints or something in the Stang for shits and giggles.

Id like to bit of endure stuff in the mustang like the Wakefield 300. Still to enter it in sprints it needs work, you would be shocked if you went for a spin in it now. Once the suspension is done it should be good. might get on the dyno to find a few more ponys![]()
Sports Sedan? :P
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."
Very bad, you should of just ordered it and put up with the price later
Possibly, probs not since we are building 2 of the things already, 12" slicks sure would be fun![]()
Oh no they have offered me a 10% discount, this would mean massive dish on the rear wheels and fabricated front suspension arms.
Still wouldn't say "No" if someone wanted to leave it in my shed.
Actually looks quite nice...be better if all the panels lined up.
I'm with GR, worth more in the classic body shape. And with all of the road/tarmac racing in Aus that runs with those rules where would you race something like that?
Replaces the rear quarters once before so they aren't worth anything.
Not going to run it in any targas so its in-eligible for any class bar biante which is all $$$ so you can write that off.
Why not make a fast mustang that can run at the mustang nationals, should be at the pointy end...

This thing has sat in the corner for a while collecting dust.
decided to get it running again, made new semi fabricated lower control arms.
new rose jointed sway bars.
'massaged the guards' to fit biante tyres on without constant rubbing.
All that is needed now is leaf springs, looking for a set of narrows, 2" width.
Falcon sprint and mustangs run the same rear leafs? can get my hands on the same springs as what is in jim richards sprint.
After guards were brutally attacked

Yeah, I *think* the early Falcon leaves will fit.

Found some leafs, from a proven NC car.
Pick them up over the weekend.
Did a bit more work on it today.
Box came out, going to give it a tidy up.
Slapped a new gearbox yoke in, been chasing a vibration. last piece left in the drive train, hopefully that's it (engine to wheels changed).
Rebuilt the clutch, thing was in amazing condition considering it has been in there for 3 years, street driven and all. could of left it as it was.
Hopefully get some incar footage soon to chuck up once its going.
Cheers

off topic but what happens to the majority of older V8SC's. Do they just gradually end up in people's sheds collecting dust?

We have 2 of them, one is going to run in the shannons series, the old seaton thing has run in sports sedans for years.

Tripple plate or twin plate "rally" discs?

Me likey the LC Arms, v noice. Does one make or buy these things?
I like what you're doing. Gives me evil ideas for my stang.

Was going to go the twin plate rally plates, but after pulling out the clutch measuring it up, the worst of the plates was only half way through it life going by measurements.
Cant complain with that sorta life, were given hell while in there, driving up onto trailer, street driving, drags ect.
in the end it wasnt worth ordering new plates and just use what was laying around.
Not too sure if you can get an off the shelf arm like these.
bolted up the bell housing today, that's about as far as it got. Will pluck open the box for a look some time next week (touch wood the dog rings are fine).
Anyone played with spools/lsd's and detroit lockers on these things?
save a bit of testing.
Cheers.

Didn't think so. Plenty of similar options out there, though not with the heim type joint. I'm a little away from going to this level suspension wise, but it is food for thought
You mean for the 8" diff?
I just received from the US of A a trac loc centre (LSD) with 3.5 gears and currie pinion support for mine, should be good for 500 or so hp before being stressed, billet axles next for more strengths. Should do well for me for a while until I get the 'real' motor sorted
Remembered you have a 9", so sweet.
I like the Tru trac, softer version of the relatively violent and noisy detroit locker. Many a good report comes from using these centres. I wouldn't go spool for a roundy-roundy.

this thing is hot
Springs arrive tomorrow, hopefully have it back on the ground this weekend.
Found a little vid on youtube driving through car park, shame there isn't any vids that catch it's true noise.
