Won't be doing IRPA but would like to have the option in the future, from what I can see of their regulations the only non compliant items are the wing and tyres. Anyone know how the log book system works if you want to use the car in different classes?

I've had my spare bootlid painted in the same colour already so could use that one rather than this one. It currently doesn't have a wing on it.

as long as your car complies to the rules of the event you want to run, it doesnt matter what it says in your logbook.

Picked up some more rims today, conveniently already painted black.

Rear of the car is all reassembled, need to do the front end then the dash and windows.

Unfortunately work is very busy so can't take days off and the car currently at a mates workshop that isn't open weekends. Makes it difficult to work on it. We'll be putting in a few days between christmas and new year to get it finished.

Yeh the wing is an acquired taste, I still don't know if I've acquired it yet either. I had the other bootlid painted as well so not a difficult job changing it to go wingless or GT wing.

At this stage it will be a GT30 of some kind, haven't spent too much time yet narrowing it down. My mates know a bloke that is supposed to be a bit of a guru so going to talk it through with him early in the new year.

Do you have any opinion on turbo sizing?

I was going to go twist mount with external wastegate but don't think I will now. I just want to drive it now rather than continuing to spending money on it

Will the alcon brakes fit under Standard rims or are they like STI brembos and you need the correct offset wheel to fit under ?

The Alcons fit under standard WRX (and Liberty) 17" wheels. The face of the caliper clears by about 2mm and the top of the caliper clears by about 1mm. I need to be careful where the tyre shops put the wheel weights otherwise they snag

    It lives

Hasn't been started in 6 months and all of the wiring has been moved and disconnected by the roll cage builder so thought we might be in for a bit of electrical gremlins.

Connected everything together, hit the key and fired first go I know it's supposed to happen like that but it was still nice to hear it start up.

Dash has been modified to fit around the roll cage, just need to install the water and oil temp guages and the interior is pretty much done.

If you're looking for lightweight 17in forged rims in a 5x100 pcd, you should seriously check out set of these.

I'm running a set of 17x8 +45's on my GDB, weighs 6.8kg each and cost me bugger all to get in from the US.

Unfortunately new wheels may have to wait. It appears that we will be receiving a new bundle of joy in September which means the racing master plan is in jeopardy

    I'm pretty stoked though

I'll get to a few rounds of the 2 litres this year though. Profi, will see you on 2 Feb as would like to get involved with helping run rounds.

Wing will most likely be coming off as I'm not convinced either. As for the paint job being too pretty I have access to a sticker machine for zip so any rough bits can be covered pretty easily. Just thought I'd start with something nice rather than the tired +10 year old white paint job that was on it, and believe me the paint was definitely showing its age!

Also as its a dedicated track car, if I bin it bad enough I'll just park it for a while.

Agreed, although the old one doesn't look as big in the flesh as it does in photos for some reason.

Anyone want to buy a bootlid with WRC wing?

Cool build up and nice pics of the cage there.

Old mate used to have similar model RA and jeez it went round like a cut cat with the adj centre diff and quick rack steering.
    KEEP CALM.
