They are quite a bit of fun, even standard. This one is WRX RA as opposed to an STi RA so doesn't have the adjustable centre diff. They were a bit hit and miss reliability wise anyway.
The plated diffs make a big difference to the handling and it has a reaward bias now, even without the DCCD.
Cool, I'd like to buy a couple of action shots, make sure you make yourself known
Having a little electrical issue at the moment, the symptoms are:
- When battery connected all is well
- When ignition is turned on all good
- When ignition is turned off the ACC circuit remains powered
- Disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it clears the issue
- Also it appears starting the car and turning it off also fixes it
Anyone have any ideas? Possibly a loose connection somewhere but the symptoms are a little strange. (Not that I'm very experienced with wiring.) Might have to get an auto elec to have a look.
Silly question, I assume this still uses an ingnition lock/barrel? Check that first.
Yes, does run the ignition barrel and we'll have a look into it.
Still got me stuffed how disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it fixes the issue.
Car was dynoed yesterday, same mods as the first post but running a VF29 with a 36mm restrictor and E85 fuel.
Anyone want to have a stab at the numbers?
I'm just trying to work out how to convert a pdf to jpg so I can post up the graph.
Bah, can't get the graph converted.
204kw peak at around 4900rpm, 5445N tractive effort, torque curve flat from around 3500rpm.
270 rwkw. Do a screen capture (alt-printscreen) of the PDF while it's displayed, paste into mspaint, save.
Or send it to me.
edit: too slow, and I forgot that you're running a restrictor.
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."
Here's the graph in PDF. Should be a fun drive
Finally finished everything for tomorrow.
Always the way, still working on it up to the last minute. Time for bed I think

Cant wait to see the times out of this thing!
Im not only sure Im HIV positive.
Are you competing this weekend?
Sandown?
Sorry to hear. that sucks after getting it all done in time.
HTF did you kill 5th?
Don't' know how it happened. One minute trucking up the back straight then just free reving. Its about the only standard subaru part left in the whole fucking car.
Only reason it wasn't replaced previously is ppg don't make a straight cut 5th. I'll find one from somewhere else.
Prior to that I was having an awesome time!
Did you end up getting your OLT? how about speed wise, happy with it?
Profi
Yeh I did get my licence so not a total loss. Ran faultlessly except for the gearbox problem. I'm pretty bummed about not racing this weekend though.
First session was damp in places so very slippery on the slicks. Handled ok but I haven't driven it for so long I was just trying to get used to it.
Has a lot of mumbo down low due to the restrictor and I felt it was a little easier to drive than the last time I drove it.
Would have circulated ok as it was this weekend
Just rang PPG and they now make one as well. Oh well, what's another $1900 (plus GST) between friends!

4th gear is a different design to the one I have, so that price is for 4th and 5th straight cut dog.
Its about the same price as there other gear pairs.
Good thing I have an understanding wife.........
Just wanted to say it looks awesome!
Sucks to hear about the Subaru gearbox curse.
Good looking car though, should be lots of fun at the track. You may have mentioned before, but I'm lazy, what class will this race in?
Under 2 litre sports sedans.
There are a few things stopping IPRA, the main one that can't be changed is the cage going through to the front strut towers.
