stupid question, does the speedo drive out of the T56 work with the original speedo? or did some AU's work off ABS sensors or something?

The T56 doesnt have a speedo drive. The 6 speed BA's use ABS for the their speedo.

I got my speedo working off the rear drivers side ABS sensor using 2 jaycar speedo correctors. The AU's usually have it coming out of the gearbox.

Woo, got the dump pipe done today so its pretty much done.

I divided the entire VE table by 1.4 to account for the XR6T map sensor and it seems like a good guess. With a bit of fucking around it will idle and it seems to drive fine once it has warmed up. It makes more power now than it did with the charger and is just as responsive from what I can tell. Its running about 7psi.

I need to fix a leaky oil drain fitting then Ill see about a tune and a few more psi's.

Need to get a BOV on it asap. The hektik dose is embarrassingly loud.

    Engine bay

    Sneaky cooler / AU sexiness.

Need to do 1000kms to wear the clutch in first.

I've been playing with the tune and have got it pretty good so far but it won't idle nice. The revs won't drop below 1200rpm when warm. Once I sort that out and do the k's I'll put more boost in.

Small updates. Fix the leaks, redid one of the pipes so it didnt rub on the piping hole and fitted my wideband gear. It was running way too lean in the post above.

Its running pretty good now on 10psi just using that J3 chip and my techedge wideband setup.

It has no traction in 1st or 2nd gear. I dont know how much power its making but I reckon 250 ish if the supercharger was making 195. Its way faster than it was then.

I put a lokka in tonight. Still no traction.

The tyres are new federal 595's in 235/45/17. Hopefully some et street radials fixes it so I can run a decent time when I eventually go.

I did it for a few years, certainly not nice but better than a minispool.

Nice work with the speedo, I just picked up a TR3650 and have been trying to figure out how to get the fucker working in the AU (or ED if it ends up there).

i've never had a minispool but i'm guessing it doesn't get the low speed turning shudder that can develop with a lokka (which you usually have to slip the clutch a little to stop). that is quite painful in itself.

It was pretty horrible with the manual, trying to rip the rear arms out... did a mean skid though.

In an auto it was smooth as.

Nah I don't drive the car during the week.

The lokka isn't too bad. I was expecting it to be a lot harsher than it is.

Turns at intersections seem fine if I leave it in first apart from sounding like the car is broken. It gets the low speed shudder as I make a few slow turns to get into my driveway but I never go to shopping centres or anything in it so I can live with it.

I read the thread about powerchips and my engine broke.

It was never going to last long but I thought it would be longer than this.

I think its just the camera.

I took the rocker cover off and with the engine running I couldn't pinpoint the noise.

There was tiny metal flakes in the oil on the dipstick so I think I've done a bearing.

bugger... so is santa bringing you some new exciting tough bits and pieces to rebuild your bottom end, or is he just bringing you a wrecker bottom end to slap on?

Santa is a bit undecided of his next move.

The lack of traction and huge amounts of axle tramp gave him the shits. The aircon was also temperamental.

It only tramps when its wet or when I go around corners or do stand still skids. So all the times I want to get up to a bit of mischief.

In the dry wanting forward motion it spins the wheels up to about 90km/hr and doesnt tramp at all. It gets a bit tail happy though.

So when I want grip it doesnt grip. When I want to play it tramps.

When its wet it wheel spins really easy so it tramps up heaps. I have to really concentrate on driving slow in the wet just to avoid it.

Before I popped the motor I was going to fit stock suspension again to see if it went away. I might do that before the new motor to make the motor swap a bit easier anyway.

I finished putting another stock motor in this today to get it driving again.

Also came across an XR8 3.45 LSD diff for cheap so pissed off that lokka. Much nicer to drive now.

Going to keep the boost low until I get my garage this time.

I havent really tested it much. I've been trying to drive carefully.

I got it sideways once in the wet and it didnt tramp though. Hopefully thats a good sign.

In the dry it seems the same, no tramp but very tail happy.

Havent pulled the old motor down yet. Might have a look this weekend if I get time. I reckon its lunched bearing though.

Supersafe non rod bending tune netted 241rwkw on 12 psi today. 230rwkw on 9psi.

Fairly unimpressive but at least it wont break before I get some rods.
