A bit of of an update with this thing.

Has been serving as my wifes work car since it was finished, has been extrememly reliable, but a thirsty pig.

Has had 1" body lift, tyres touched the mudflaps on flex.

Went to Landcruiser park, twas good, cheap chinaman cv joint sheared off in the middle with very little abuse, so was a 3 wheel drive for the weekend, genuine reconditioned mitsubushi cv going in next week.
I have some good vids, but need good internets to upload.

These are the only still pics i took, so forgive the ghey flex shot pose.

minor damage to the plastic, i will admit the door and sill are crumpled metal underneath.

Also went in the local burnout comp, have 2 vids to upload, locker worked well, 31's were not the ideal tyre size to smoke, but it did a good skid.

    Pic i found on boostlosing...

Forgot too, was on the way to the gold coast after cruiser park and cough splutter, run out of fuel with 1/4 still showing on the gauge.
Jumped under the back of the car and the tank capacity has shrunk somewhat, with an especially large dint where the sender is.
So that was a great walk for the missus and myself, luckily only about 3ks from a servo. so now she has to fill the tank up at 1/4 cos thats where the gauge stops moving.

In this vid the passenger side cv is already broken and removed, and I forgot to put the rear locker in, but it is a cool video.

    No updates for awhile.

Lots of offroad has happened, car is covered in dints and scratches, and looks real abused.

Rear locker has stripped all the teeth off, so it doesnt work anymore, might be time for an air leaker.

Cool, cheers mate, will have to get a map out soon and see where i am being led to.

Pulled out the interior to remove the carpet, pretty rotten, it didnt even come out in one piece. Gave the floor a good scrub and hose out, ready for paint.

Bought some speakers from jb hifi on the weekend, they had a 30% off sale. So 4" for the dash, and 6 x 9 for the rear sides. didnt spend much, but sounds good.

Existing cd player now mounted properly, instead of with duct tape.

cool, sounds good. spoke to crew cheif, thinking atherton is a good distance from mackay (our first stop) at approx 8hrs. Thanks for the offer bodgy
No bike, too much other junk to carry im thinking.

Been busy. Floor painted in 2 pack with a brush and roller.

I eventually decided to mount the amp for the stereo on the back of the passenger seat.
Flat surfaces are hard to find in the swb, so its either the seat or the floor, the floor is likey to go under water.

    Snorkel done too.

How it joins in the engine bay

    Mounted uhf ariel as well.

Pulled rear diff centre as the oil was full of metal.

Factory rear air locker is stuffed, only 6 teeth left on one of the sides of the lockers meshing teeth.

    tough day.........

    Thanks!

Factory pajero airbox is in the engine bay.

Looks like it will get an arb air leaker as eaton make nothing for the pajero.

So I picked another diff up off ebay for $50.
I needed a complete diff as the factory locker axels are different to normal.
My crownwheel and pinion are worn out as well, due to all the metal floating in the oil.

I replaced all the interior screws with stainless, the rusty old ones were not easy to undo.

I made a plate to bolt to the factory towbar position, then welded the trailer hitch to it.
I dont have a towbar, so this is easy.

The missus new car that allowed me to have the pajero back.

Very very cool car. Seems to be a weapon. I am thinking of grabbing something for the dunes was thinking about one of these, but a little scared by people saying the are very unreliable. Hows the reliability power with the stock donk? The heat is high here. Pootrols and cruisers are stupidly over priced here.

Yep rash 14.2 @ 100mph time to fit a chute!

The stock engines have head issues, mostly corrosion but also bhg's mostly due to lack of maintenance / overheating.
I would buy one either with bhg's ready to fix, or with reciepts to say it has been done.

the 3.0 has no torque and relys mostly on revs to get anywhere, not ideal in a 4wd.
The 3.5 is much better, more power, more torque, and a heap better fuel economy.
They are not known to overheat at all under load or hot conditions so that should be no worries.

    Todays efforts, me tired.

New diff pulled apart. Crownwheel has some wear, I will get it looked at by someone who knows more than me.

One new inner tie rod and idler arm fitted today.

    Front shocks $260 delivered pair.

    Fitted.

Still need to order the compressor so far, thinking i might get a decent one. Might do something about fitting it today lots of bearings to press on / off.

Was thinking about doing the rear wheel bearing while the axels are out too, looks like a mission though...

    thanks mate.
Yeh i have dreamt of more power, even got semi- serious at times with the research. The corolla would need to be finished first though.

    So the list would be:

    Air/air intercooler
    mafless tune
    18 psi pulley

    hopefully one day...

injectors, where do they run out?

Gearbox is good, no problems at all. I really should have a temp gauge on it though, if it dies that will be why. Beach driving seems hard on it in particular.
