Caught this gem at the lights on the way home today. Realised once moving the straps used to tie it down (over the front wheels) appeared to be the 25mm Grunt ones from Bunnings.
Awesome, especially a 1600kg towing capacity with 2.5 tonne on board
I own a two and a half litre Commodore

Gents, i need to pick up a boat and unregistered trailer next week. The trailer is allegedly serviceable and according to old mate was recently used however it has no rego. Rather than just YOLO it and end up on this thread, what do i need to do/know? Is there such thing as unreg'd permits for trailers, or should i be hiring a car trailer and pulling this thing up onto the back of it?

For the time it would take, I'd pull the hubs off the axle and make sure the bearings are somewhat serviceable and put some grease in them. At the very least, jack it up and make sure there aren't any horendous noises from the hubs when you spin the wheels.

Or just call a tow truck...

Thats the intention. Sadly tow truck not an option - its 200km away so itll cost me a small mortgage. Might find out if its falcon-PCD [it looks it] as i should be able to get bearings for those through work

Unregistered vehicle permit. It works for a caravan/trailer too. Just need the vin

In NSw it cost me like $22 or something silly for 24 hours wasn't worth swapping the plate for that.

Awesome, exactly what i needed to know thanks.

The Dexter bearings are, as far as im aware, a more recent thing [as in last 20yrs]. Melbourne Trailer was the distributor for all DEXTER stuff so it went out on pretty much any caravan or trailer built in VIC. Wasnt aware you could have Holden style bearings on Falcon PCD, i thought they kept that shit consistent - there goes that idea.

Yeah, they keep the stub on the axle consistent so they can easily swap the hubs to suit the PCD the customer wants...
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

This is what happens when you hire muppets.

Is it crazy how saying sentences backwards creates backwards sentences saying how crazy it is?

You knew something was going to happen the moment you saw they were using a front end loader to drag the truck up the ramp. And that's before you noticed the trailer. To be honest I was expecting the boat to fall off alot sooner than it did.

ASX is rated to 1300kg, not sure I'd want to pull that much anyway.

If something was to go wrong, hard enough turn, or braking, that pile wasn't staying nicely stacked like that.
