Why do it? Yeah it will run a few 10ths quicker but at increased risk of the engine dropping a seal. If it does, you're up for another housing and at worst a mid/end plate. Just my 2 cents!

haha fatman....dan still thinking about it, the main reason to go to dales is to sort out the missfiring to burnouts....still weighing up options at the moment for power

I'd have a bit more fun before leaning on it more, unless you have an engine sitting waiting to go in, or the coin to do it as soon as it breaks.
This is a post i wrote by mistake, which is nice...

Yeah mad, put an LS1 in it and join the 5000million other cars that can only be driven at powercruises. Good idea for some one who has neither a trailer or a car to tow it.

If you are happy to destroy a good running engine that you know needs to be built just for a few tenths, go for it.

I know it was a good joke hey!!!! LS1 conversions are shit!!!

I think that you will find that John has a towing gig worked out if not hire a trailer when people are first starting out. I am sure John wont go to stupid as the car is almost ready to engineer

Meh guys, at the moment I'm happy with it, it starts, I race it, so Im happy, about to purchase a trailer within next month.
AS I said before it will mainly be doing to dales to get some fuel taken from midrange to see if it sorts out the missfire in the burnouts, but before that I'm gonna change the leads and plugs as they have been giving me greif in the past.... Settle down guys

Very true John. It does everything that you wanted from the build. Dale should be able to help you out.

Have you though about taking some weight out of it?

Just so you arent confused - My point was that a V8 in a light car will mean that it can't be registered. You'll have to point out where I say LS1's are shit.

You didnt mate. I was only having a joke with John as I have in the past with him about putting a LS1 in it. Yes i know that it cant be registered with a V8.

    Mods feel free to delete.

What a day, put some new ls1 coil packs in and its fixed the problem.. Ripped some mega skids which made me very happy.. Started off ran 11.9 114mph, then ran again and got a new p.b 11.80 114mph.. Was absolutely wrapped!! Next few runs were good with a 12.0 and another 11.9 or so.... 2nd last run launched really hard, caught me off guard and lost concentration, short shifted at 5k and went through for a 11.9 111mph, going over that timeslip, i was a tenth quicker to the 60' and to 330' then on the 11.80 ....if i hadnt short shifted i think it may have gone quicker, possibly 11.70 or 11.60.

On the last pass, going through to do the burnout, got on the brake, hit second and the temp went through the roof...aborted the burnout and pass and going to replace the thermostat and waterpump... Overall still a great day and now can say its a consistent 11 second car....Havent been asked to get a super street license yet tho..

another great night at the track, scored another new p.b, went 11.6 113mph backed it up with a few 11.7's, had a few runs where it wheelspun, which were 11.8 and 11.9, 12.5...

Congrats all around. The car is consistent. does what you want, puts a huge smile on your face and goes well. For now have fun racing it and up the power when you get bored (and get some coin!)

Well done John the car looks great and a credit to you for sticking to what you want. Oh you still look like a giant driving it.

Its a 450x300x75. Its the thickest we could fit without cutting anything up. I have mentioned to John once we turns the wick up with a new motor going to a water to air setup.
