Funny you say that, I found a gze wasted spark setup.. so going to find some smallport rockers to suit, the leads are fairly snug and short.. time to paint another set pink!

Nice car, always liked the Sprinters.

What sort of power does this setup make?

To be honest, Im not sure maybe only 120rwkw.. we'll have to see when its done... anyway...

    so progress...
Motor and box is in, after a little freshen up... new leading 2nd gear put in. Averaging about 1000km out of the synchro hubs now, need to be a little bit nicer to it.
trumpets fit except for cyl number 4 hits the rear brake master on the firewall.. Dont want to short them so got some mandrel bends to chop up, adding a piece in to make them point up slightly (and prolly about 20mm longer, the longer the better), now the filter socks will rub on the bonnet, but that doesnt worry me much.

Also got some new flash carbon bits.

cant wait to start mounting all the fuses and pilot lights in that.

Got my diff housing back from Phil Purser at final drive, it had about 5mm toe out from various knocks.. got it back with 3mm Toe In plus some extended trailing arm mounts.
its here with it extra long as He didnt know how much ground clearance I had.

Im sure you pf cunts would know the gains of dropping the rear trailing arm. If i was twice as smart as I am id draw a diagram on cad, but im a reatard and cant use any of that.. my explanation works in my head and thats enough..

    with some chrome moly arms,

Then with it shortened, I originally gave it to phil as I wanted a nice job that I couldnt do myself. And it is a perfect job done by him. Then I give it go and weld the bottom part I cut off myself and realise i have gotten better on the TIG in recent months. should have saved some money and given the whole job a go myself. (my welds are the unpainted ones)

and I got some whitelines... so it looks like an american shitter.

off for some sticker love soon... then packed in a container and shipped to qld.. trying to get as much done in WA before I ship east.

Small update. Put this in a container with enough spares to make another sprinter. Still left parts back in Perth (that will come later)

Haven't turned a spanner since moving to qld (no job, it's sitting in a friends garage doing sfa - got a shed sorted very soon)

Since I've been depressed as fuck about not being able to work/spoon/hug the car. I had to do something about it. So I bought an smc (for almost nothing. Motec dreams dashed) and a racepak logging gps dash. With oil temp, press and fuel press sensors. Cost waay too much. But I'm earning better money. So whatevs.

And because I have a modern dash. I can't run classics. But meh. It'll be AMSAG spec soon.

It'll be wired up before Xmas. Driving a cpl of months after that.

Are suspension mounting points to the body free? if so i'd look in to running equal length arms, seems the thing to do for track cars and means the rear axle movement is much more predictable, could be a huge advantage in rally.

Nope. Not even in classics are suspension mounting points on the chassis are allowed to change. Technically the diff housing is free. And that's a diff housing. I'm expecting to get a fair few issues at pre event. But I'll be there ready with the technical regs to dispute it.

Don't get me wrong. I would love to run equal length arms and a watts link. There's freaking weld on kits for the setup from Ireland. Just have to cut and weld. But for now. It's PRC. So I'll stick with it. For shell #2 I'll build it full grp4 spec. And not care about cams.

Is there a flex coupling at the hub that let's you run toe/camber?
You seem to think you can restore that classic car in your garage by drinking beer while staring at it.

Nope. Just bend the housing. Bearings take a hit. But I replace them every season.
