OK, half of project lower air temps complete, ABS pump deleted, now have to wait for some 3.5" alloy pipe and donuts to make the CAI. Got the 600x300x100 cooler in and the bar still bolts on some what unmolested. Thinking i might keep the little turbo on and see if it can go 140. It went 10.49 @ 131 with bottle to 4000rpm, i am wondering what might happen if i run gas to say 7200rpm, the gear shift at 7500rpm should then be somewhat less severe with the gas off. Here is a shitty pic.

Got this all back together and realized the turbo had done a seal, luckily had another non ball bearing core with similar wheels and comp cover that slipped straight in. With the little convertor back in it's not as snappy but it sure goes when its on air temps also seem to be under control although less than ideal weather for load testing. Now to re install n20

Bit of a rush job and the bay is all grubby but can see all piping is now alloy, intake pipe runs into a box that occupies the original ABS pump location and is fed fresh air from behind the front bar. New 600x300x100 cooler stil hides ok.

Very nice!! Will be interested to see if the CAI works for you? I had a mate with a 4G63 do back to back tests on his 500rwhp combo on the dyno with cold air and then a few runs with engine bay temps and on the dyno they did not see any significant changes. I would think it would have to help.

It helps maybe not when stationary so much but on the track it will for sure.

Roads were dry before do I did a loaded up top gear pull, ran to about 5000rpm and hit the 37psi boost cut. Still bleeding the same amount off as old ic setup and that would make 26psi. Air temps seem to be 20-30 degrees lower than previous data.

Definately makes sense. When i hooked up the turbo intakes on the benz to the headlights my intake temps were definately lower and felt it went harder for longer. But most people did try to tell me that the intake tubing effects incoming air/spool etc, i can't prove this either way but i think it can only be a positive. Sounds like it is working for you. 20-30 deg is a nice improvement!
