    OBD-II and aftermarket ECU displays

    Hi all,
I currently write the software and sell OBD-II and aftermarket ECU displays at www.ecudatascan.com.au

At the moment there's $20 off the ECUDatascan + 10% off store wide (until 15 Feb).

If you're a PF member I'll take another $5 off every year you've been here (max. 10 years).

    Thanks,
    Impakt

I have all the protocol info for that model (from Haltech themselves). Not sure how to connect to it yet though. Is it a plug and play or was it wired in?

I have an Innovate OT2 scanner. I kind of hate it.

Can I connect your screen to the OT2?

10sec_rx7: yeah if you're keen. Is it CAN?

rexxxy: Afraid not. The ECUDatascan uses its own OBD-II cable.

I gotta go to Panelcorp today to drop off the territory, so could go as soon as today.

P.S. ECUDatascan doesn't do PWM/VPW (yet). Waiting for my cable guy to give me the firmware update that has support for it.

I can endorse this product , been using for a year or so in the Lib, doubles as an iGo GPS too.

If it did knock detection thatd be perfect

I'm not 100% sure but I thought there was a knock retard parameter on the Subaru ECU. You could add that to a dashboard and set an alert on it?

nah I'm afraid it doesn't. It has a 400Mhz CPU (with no dedicated gfx chip) so the CPU has to do all the work. It plays mp3/mp4/divx decently though.

well, ogg and flac are just songs anyway... (and i don't care for mp4/divx, as i'd be driving :P )

but as i said earlier, i'd have to know what car will be the next one before i make any decision......

I just bought one. This is a great piece of gear.
Been playing with it all day.

If your car has an OBD port, this is highly recommended.

Do you have a list of parameters that can be displayed with the vipec ECU's?

I wouldn't mind getting a couple of these for my vipec controlled cars instead of the link/vipec display.

Does the display connect to the CAN port or the normal comms port on the vipec?

It connects to the CAN port using the adapters that we sell on the site. ViPec and Link happily provided us with the complete protocol spec so we support all parameters that the ViPec/Link software supports.

Awesome, what's the best way to order? I'll get one to start with along with vipec and ECU cables.

It was wired in, though being an is200 I think it has an OB11 port. Factory computer still thinks it runs the show.

I asked Haltech about the PS2000 ECU for another customer this week and they tell me it's a proprietary connector that's used to connect to the CAN port on the ECU. SO you'd need to get a cable from Haltech to adapt to the ECUDatascan.

If you're keen I can chase it up with them.

I reviewed this for Race magazine ages ago. It's a damn good bit of gear and when it can do VT LS1 I'll be buying one as a dash replacement in the race car.
    Your social better.

My Ecu install is piggybacked over the standard body and engine ecu ( which are required to make the stock dash work). The Haltech ecu gets one set of data through its sensors, and the factory ecu still has its full set of sensors in place. Wondering if I could treat it as a stock car and just plug in as if it were no different ?

Yeah like Dale says it will work. It will show whatever the factory ecu thinks is going on though.
