    1990 GQ patrol TD42 turbo

Its good to have a 4x4 section now..

This is my GQ, i bought it pretty much how it is with all the good stuff on it already which saves a lot of money.

    Mods are...

    *Tube front and rear bar

    * rock sliders

    *3" lift + 33" big horns

    *10,000 pound winch

    *front arb air locker

    *Garrett turbo + 3" exhaust

    *Dual batterys

*Home made drawers plus fridge slide

    *GU air box

    *snorkle

    *air tank behind seat

*Superior engineering upper & lower control arms + panhards.

Since i bought it ive fixed a rust hole i found in the floor and fitted the roof basket, i also replaced the dual battery solenoid with a redarc one cause the other one died.

Soon it will be getting more lift and i will be fitting a top mount intercooler with a bonnet scoop when i get the time and money.

    Here's some pics

Kickass, that beast will go anywhere!
Can you tell me what it's like to drive on the road with that lift/tyres? I've heard GQs are wallowy POS with big rubber but I do wonder just how bad it could possibly be.

That's pretty awesome, the TD42 loves boost, gotta be happy with how the truck is at the moment.
How do you find it when 4WDing in mud when it comes on boost? My mates land cruiser 05 model just spun the wheels, whilst not the same thing, I'd think the Nissan would be similar?

Thanks, it amazes me the hills it can get up. On the road its pretty good, the handling is still ok even though it has no swaybars, when you load up the roof basket though it gets a bit top heavy. They are bad on road if you lift them and dont do the proper caster correction.

yeah it loves the boost, its running 12psi at the moment but will go higher when i intercool it. I find its good coming on to boost as it still has a lot of torque off boost so the power delivery is very smooth.

    this.
I want to organize one with Adelaide PF cunts and do the quarry, you can set up a BBQ in any of the clearings and spend as much time as you like. Should be a good day.

Heading to landcruiser park on the may weekend. Been to scenic rim, didn't think it was much good. I normally head up to frazer over christmas/ new year but i think we're doin somethin different this year, not sure what yet. Dont mind a trip to DI every so often.

Did landcruiser park this weekend, just me and the missus cause the others pulled out. Its a beautiful place and the tracks are fun.

This is the entry to the Camp road hillclimb, if you look closely you can see the roof basket is hitting on the tree, lots of people did damage on that tree i was told, including broken windows.

The entry to the other track beside camp road.

Damn, this thing flexes like mad. I take it back when i said your front end did nothing, it tucks up hard.

Well done on all the climbs. Makes extreme hills look easy.

hrt5l, I can't seem to find your post signing up for the PF Glasshouse Mtns 4wd meet

To post youtube videos, use the square brackets around youtube, then the bit after the = in the video's URL. eg. but with square brackets (youtube)r2QYPVTNzX8(/youtube)

    Eg.

Now go sign up for the GH mtns meet!
Don't worry, thats just the self-preservation instinct, in my experience you can safely ignore it.
