So to find my adventure into Supermoto racing the Foes has to go. I built it at the start of last year out of all new parts and had it looked after by a bike mechanic mate who has serviced it and made sure it was in tip top condition after every race meet. It was a no expense spared build with the best parts I could buy at the time.
The frame is an 09 but is still the current Foes DHS Mono 2:1 frame. Each DHS Mono is still hand welded by Brent Foes himself with a very limited number of frames being made each year. I think he knocks out around 50 a year and at last check its a 14 month waiting list for one. Also each Curnut rear shock is made for each frame so you get the perfect action from it though all 10 inches of rear swingarm travel . As you would expect with such a bespoke frame it comes with adjustable steering head angel and a floating rear calliper set up to stop rear brake jacking. The frame is a Large so it would suit most guys from about 5'7 up although with a DHS there is bugger all between the small and the Large off the top of my head its 1/2 and inch in the main spar.
Grear wise its all high end stuff like a full Saint cranks and chain set,Avid codes,Sunline billet direct mount stem and Boxer world cup forks,Hadley front and rear hubs,Carbon bars etc
The Boxer forks are 08 limited edition works world cups with gloss black legs
While I could of bought new world cups when I did the build I choose these as
most people including myself regard them as the best forks rock shox have made. Each to their own but IMO they feel better than the new forks and Fox40's good but shit for parts and like to blow seals at the drop of a hat.
If you are a complete sick'o I have some DMV upside down 39mm air forks you can put on it to look cool but race slow.
Anyway its all high end spec and a very fast bike thats way above my level. I am just a wanker/hack who likes to have nice shit. Abit like the old guy in the 599FFX who cant drive for shit but still has one. I dropped 10seconds off my P.B on my first run with this bike so it cost me about $650 per second lol.
Every person who has ridden the bike comes back in awe of how smooth and fast it is. You can run into or over crazy rocks and it just soaks them up with not even so much as a shake of the head. Great if you are a hack like me.
Anyway here are a few build pics it now has a black Mavic rim on the front.
I have the bike getting serviced now but will get some more pics when it comes back if anyone is serious about it. I am going to put it on Rotorburn etc in the next few weeks but though I would chuck it up on here first.
Price wise I am looking at ~$2,500ono build cost was around 6K so I think that's around the mark but I am happy to talk about it.
