You need some more bar work.

Looks good, let me know when you are ready for the doors/boot/hardtop.

There is a rotary 1/2 chassis one almost finished being built somewhere near you.

The engine is a Mazda Fe-Dohc and its about 3 inchers and a bit taller than a 1.8Bp mazda engine and i wanted to keep a large sump for plenty of oil. And another resean the titanium bellhousing i have for it was massive.

    Ahhh yet, understand now.

    + 1.
Dry sump only needs to be 50mm or so deep usually.

The bell-housing is dictating the engine height, hard to put a nice flat floor under it if its lowered.

Other than visuals does the engine height really matter that much, not as if its going round corners, fuck cutting down that expensive looking Ti bell-housing.

I still reckon that whole gearbox set-up is a bit over the top though, Iam sure a lighter more compact something could have been sourced, must be nice to have fuckloads of dollars, but then whats a liberty worth these days ?

EDIT: $8,500 for a clutchless 5 speed liberty, might as well keep the lenco.

I haven't researched drag racing at all, but generally the lower the CG the more useful weight transfer you'll get onto the rear tyres.

hi dale, just thought id clear up a few things , the crankshaft centreline height i have is set up at 12 1/2 inches to the ground, and is exactly the same height as the rear pinion yoke and is exactly where i want it, it is a perfect height for this power and clutch setup, the lower the engine the less weight transfer you have on the rear tyres, and is more crucial in a clutch car with a light engine as apposed to a 6 or 8 cylinder auto car, as you can see the crankshaft is in a unusual position in the block, which makes the block look high once the cylinder head and valve cover is on it, as the pictures show the bottom of my chassis jig is ground height giving the chassis the minimum height of 3 " and the legal height regards jeff jp fabrications

    Why that engine?

Looks like a 2500hp car with an 800 hp engine.

Jp Fab is doing the chassis work. I have built the chassis this way so i can put any engine in it, Thats the engine iv been playing with for years now so it was time to go full steam a head on it and see what it can do.The pinion angle is very important we are trying to keep the car low as possible . The pinion angle is suppost to be as straight as possible my crank does sit up high in the engine so thats th part of the problem the engine is sitting high.
