You need some more bar work.
Looks good, let me know when you are ready for the doors/boot/hardtop.
There is a rotary 1/2 chassis one almost finished being built somewhere near you.
The old banger mx5 - Phillip Island - 1:50.6 (with 125rwkw's no lsd) Sandown - 1:24.7 (with 110rwkw's and lsd) Winton - 1:36.8 (with 125rwkw' and lsd)
The NA8B 89.3rwkw's - P.I. 1:52.8 -WINTON 1:38.0 - SANDOWN 1:28.8 -WINTON SHORT 1:08.7 -BROADFORD 1:07.9
Yer thats Lee's car looks good. I will let you no. as you can see i need a front clip made up aswell the motor does sit up a bit so i need a hump in the bonnet section

The originality of this setup appeals to me a lot.
Love it.
i like this car but as i love the suspension on the mx5 it's a hame it had to go
why did u not just leave the origanal mout points in the same spot and fab up all the arms in the same lengeths that would of kept some mx5 blood in it
edit of course im only talkin front end

Nice bar work, any reason why the engine is so high in the frame ?

It will have a dry sump, The pump is siting on the side of the motor in the first picture
Then you don't need a large sump, lower that motor!

Other than visuals does the engine height really matter that much, not as if its going round corners, fuck cutting down that expensive looking Ti bell-housing.
I still reckon that whole gearbox set-up is a bit over the top though, Iam sure a lighter more compact something could have been sourced, must be nice to have fuckloads of dollars, but then whats a liberty worth these days ?
EDIT: $8,500 for a clutchless 5 speed liberty, might as well keep the lenco.

hi dale, just thought id clear up a few things, the crankshaft centreline height i have is set up at 12 1/2 inches to the ground, and is exactly the same height as the rear pinion yoke and is exactly where i want it, it is a perfect height for this power and clutch setup, the lower the engine the less weight transfer you have on the rear tyres, and is more crucial in a clutch car with a light engine as apposed to a 6 or 8 cylinder auto car, as you can see the crankshaft is in a unusual position in the block, which makes the block look high once the cylinder head and valve cover is on it, as the pictures show the bottom of my chassis jig is ground height giving the chassis the minimum height of 3 " and the legal height regards jeff jp fabrications

dosent the mx5 in the photos have an anti lift bar above the diff
Why that engine?
Looks like a 2500hp car with an 800 hp engine.
Looks good, who is doing the chassis work?
Rides-
1984 toyota coaster bus
2009 mitsubishi evo x mr
wtd-
vr,vs or vu ute. The cheaper the better, pm me.
Jp Fab is doing the chassis work. I have built the chassis this way so i can put any engine in it, Thats the engine iv been playing with for years now so it was time to go full steam a head on it and see what it can do.The pinion angle is very important we are trying to keep the car low as possible . The pinion angle is suppost to be as straight as possible my crank does sit up high in the engine so thats th part of the problem the engine is sitting high.
