Greg and his team have fantastic product and service,

My Cayenne needed new brakes at its last service and whilst it was on the hoist at Porsche Centre Gold coast - the dealer rang with the price for new pads. After I picked myself up off the floor, I rang Greg and he had a full set of front pads made to OEM spec complete with electronic sensors dropped into Porsche that evening for fitment the next day.

All at one quarter the price and the performance is every bit as good as genuine

    Thanks guys!
Cheers mate, no dramas at all!

    Cheers
    Hi mate,

RDA Rear slotted rotors to suit STi are $319 for the pair. Alternatively DBA Street Series are $165 per rotor (almost the same price) or 4000 Series, which will last a lot longer due to their higher carbon content and heat treatment are $231 per rotor.

PF we don't stock, no particular reason except generally PMu is generally better and cheaper. The V8's have the choice of PFC01 or H16-03 on the front, and all bar 2 teams choose the H16-03. H16-03 to suit rear of Evo would be $465.50 for the. Or the 98% as good Club Racer I spoke about above would be $322.05 for the set.

Any other questions just let me know!

Is it just the one part number for the STi rotors Greg (ie. same spec rotor for 2005-08)? I think I may have asked you this previously but i lost the email so forgive me. The only reason i was after the PFC01 was because i was given some for the front to try (mismatched car) and wanted to match the compounds. Nevetheless, the club racer seems like a good option.

I'd go the Club Racer pad, which is VERY similar to the H16-03 (V8 Supercar pad), but tempered a little differently, so no where near as expensive. To suit your GTiR would be $331.55 for the front, and $303.05 for the rear. You'd probably have to allow a month for manufacture though as I wouldn't imagine they'll be available off the shelf.

What rotors were you running the A1RM on?
I had the pads on vented standard size rotors - i think they are RDA but not sure. I spoke to you on the phone after i'd melted them and you mentioned that the discs had to be machined before fitment if they'd had a cheap pad on them before - incompatibility of the A1RM pad material with the thin layer of melted pad material already on the disc you suggested may have been the issue. So i got another set from you (A1RM's) and took them down to the guys are RaceBrakes here in Yarraville and spoke to Howard who reckoned that couldn't possibly have been the problem and they'd simply overheated as the rotor was too small and the car too fast. They never machine the rotors unless they're warped when fitting these pads apparently - fucked if I know!

So I don't know what to do haha! I have a set of the A1RM's here to put on front and rear, but if they're just going to melt again on the first two laps then I don't want to waste my time. The obvious solution is a brake upgrade with a larger rotor and bigger wheels but that's an expensive upgrade for a car that only occasionally sees the track.

Project Mu pads sound good but the price and availability doesn't. Does QFM do a higher temp pad?

edit; I should mention the car is actually a nissan NX-R coupe, not a GTIR pulsar, but it shares the same pad/disc/caliper combo.

In DBA rear it's the one part from 01-08 as they double drill the stud pattern. RDA there's a different number for 01-04 and 05-08.

The only reason i was after the PFC01 was because i was given some for the front to try (mismatched car) and wanted to match the compounds. Nevetheless, the club racer seems like a good option.
Yeah either or. The Club Racer should be heaps. For reference the V8's run either H16-03/PFC01 in the front, and one of the rear options is DS3000, and I'd liken Club Racer to DS3000.

    Hi mate,

    - Street series slotted would have to be made, allow 2-3 weeks, and $181.50 per rotor.
    - 4000 series slotted are in stock at DBA, $247.50
    - 5000 series (2 piece) were available, but currently no stock, and no ETA. Could back order if you liked and that would speed it up a little, $536.25 per rotor.

Did you need pads, lines or fluid at all?

WOW... is all I can say to that. We've had numerous occasions of people fitting A1RM on rotors which had previously had TRW pads on them, and the A1RM performed pathetically... To say that changing pad materials on the same rotor doesn't affect it's performance it to not understand the very basic of the pad/rotor interaction.

QFM does, but they're not really worth it... As they're 1/2 the price of PMu, but will last 1/4 as long. Next step up would be the Comp 9 front/Comp 2 rear combo, which are $179 per set front or rear, and allow 3-4 weeks for manufacture.

Strange - hard to know what to think with this, as apparently Howard was one of the two guys who originally designed and tested the A1RM pads years ago. What I might do is take the car down, get them to machine the rotors all round and fit the A1RM's, then go do a track day and see what happens. Hopefully all is well - then we will have some more real-world insight into the problem.

If they melt again, I'll try ordering some of the project Mu pads.

Thanks again for the help and advice greg - appreciate it!

    Hi Snavy,

Sorry for the really late reply. Anything urgent its always best just to call us.

We do not currently have a physical outlet in Victoria yet but we are working on it. Depending on what it is you want to order, most of it can be over nighted from a supplier that is closest to you. If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to pm or call.

    Regards Matt

    Hi Edmonty,

Sorry for the really late reply.

We can supply the QFM A1RM pads which are good for about 780 degrees for $119 inc gst for the set.

ok, I'll give it a shot

BF Falcon ute in need of new front rotors, stock ones are ~86,000 old and shudder badly at highway speeds. Pads look to have plenty of meat in them (I think they've been replaced in the last year or so), and rears seem fine.. Gets used mostly for dragging my fat arse around but occasionally takes some gear in the back

Fanboys on AFF all say DBA slotteds (except the tightarses who say RDA)... Will DBA street slotted rotors chew the pads that are in there? (most likely OEM replacement things) If so, what pads would you put with them? How much for both?

Can wait for them to be shipped (Sydney) or whatever, but would ideally be invoiced before 30/6

another shoutout to the boys.. & the dudes at RDA

so RDA 750S (258 x22 ,4 stud) rotors arrived last wednesday direct from RDA warehouse. wife accepts delivery, places inside front door. Rowdy takes to shed and places on bench, thinking MMM. weekend is coming soon, will look at them then, still waiting on cheap arse calipers.

Rowdy opens package, sunday morning, opens rotor box and notices rotors are 5 stud and biigggg... like 300x 32 mm - look at code on box, google search- Skyrine rotors.. hrmmm... no good for me...

Email nathan at brakesdirect monday morning. He calls RDA, RDA calls me about 20 minutes later very apologetic- my rotors are on the other side of canberra, and I have the other persons rotors in a packaging stuff up. Lady with skyrine rotors hadn't opened the box yet, so she was quite thankful I did! . Couriers are arranged. tuesday morning the skyrines are gone from my possession. Corolla's arrived with me today.

RDA guys were great to deal with, and brakesdirect were very prompt in getting the ball rolling.
