    My Mx5 Racecar :)

Alright, well i finally bit the bullet and purchased a nice lil race car. I have been doing sprints etc in an S2000 last few years, but it is still a road car so i wanted something just for racing.

Im going to start out just using it for sprints, trackdays etc until i get used to it, and then start doing more events such as mx5 races, prod sports, and i wouldnt mind trying a targa event or 2.

The car is a '92 NA MX5, decent amount of work done to engine, suspension etc so should be a fun car. A few of you mayh have seen it around, it has been racing for a few years.

Some pics , please excuse my post processing if its shit, just playing round with lightroom etc

For me.. none.. only driven it once and that was getting used to it.

but the previous owner was doing consistant 1:10-1:11 at wakefield and should be capable of a 1:09 with good driver and right conditions. I think he did a 1:03 at lakeside.
There are other times but i cant be bothered going through natsoft at moment to find them

That looks like a near perfect track day car, and pretty quick. What sort of money was it worth, if you don't mind me asking.

Nice one mate. Michael's car was very quick when Daniel Dekkers used to drive it.

You must come Prod Sports racing. It's a blast.

    Cost round the $15k mark,

Peps - Basically.. Worked heads, pistons, Cams, Extractors, exhaust, Wolf v500, coilovers, etc etc, haha top of my head i cant remember all brands and specs, sure its written down somewhere. Ill try grab some interior and engine pics soon.

Cal - Yeah Daniel was there when i bought it, well im assuming it was the same guy, he built the engine etc and works on Michael's other mx5, seems like good bloke. The other guy he usually co-drives with did a 1:12 at wakefield that day with a heavy passenger and full tank of fuel while not pushing it to full extent which is pretty quick.

Once i have done a few sprints and track days im going to start prod sports for sure, cant wait.

Nice photos and very sensible track car. Good price too I reckon. Where was the set/background? Old house looks fantastic.

When you get bored with S/S; iRace and www.mra.net.au have good cheap sensible racing.
