    vl berlina turbo

    Up for sale I have my 1986 model VL berlina. it started life as n/a but I have converted it to turbo. Originally built it as a std turbo setup and drove around for 8 months without missing a beat. The turbo was a little bit sad so decided to rebuild it and put a bit of work into the rest of the motor. The car is still running an n/a auto but has oil cooler fitted I haven’t had any problem with it but have had people recommend I replace it with a built jatco.

    the body on this needs a bit of love, the nose cone is damaged and the paint on the roof and boot are faded. interior is pretty decent has alarm (need to join siren wire again) central locking.


    The following parts have been done to the car.

    ported & polished head
    1.3mm mls head gasket acl
    wade 818 cam with h/d springs
    roll master vernier cam gear
    gates racing timing belt
    Top gun 10mm leads
    ICE ignition Coil
    ICE ignition booster
    Z32 AFM
    NIStune ecu
    fuel rail suit 14mm oring inj with bosch 42lb injectors
    1:1 rising rate fuel regulator
    5/16 strata flex fuel lines with screw on ends
    2ltr surge tank boot mounted
    AU 220kw intank fuel pump
    bosch 044 external pump
    gfb boost tap
    T3 turbo extensivley hi-flowed by MTQ engine systems (4dyno runs old) on std low mount manifold
    brand new 13psi actuator (fitted for 1 dyno run)
    3" turbo back exhaust with hi-flow cat
    Ross 20% under driven balancer
    new alternator with smaller pulley suit balancer
    new twin thermo's with electronic controller, viscouse fan removed
    brand new radiator
    new king ultra low springs front and rear
    new short shockers front and rear
    vdo oil pressure and temp gauge dash mounted need connecting
    bonnet struts fitted
    strut brace fitted



    this car has not been driven since all this work was done. It was on the dyno getting tuned, it got to about 70% tuned when the tuner thought the bottom end let go, upon inspection when I got it home, I found number 1 plug burnt out. Also the 25spline lsd let go.
    That is how the car sits now it will need a new diff centre and need to be finished tuning.

    So far the car has made around 200rwkw with 1465nm torque @ wheels
    The car is being sold with the 5spoke 15” wheels in the pics as I only have 3 of the 17” blade rims

    $4000 ono make me an offer i want it gone.

    would be interested in swaps mainly for a yamaha banshee qaud bike, but may be interested in other things what have you got?

    i will put a minispool in the diff so it is atleast driveable, to make life easier for a buyer.

    got onto another lsd centre so that is going to be fitted instead of the minispool, also car will be sold with 15" stockies now.

    price drop $3500 ono

    It has only just run out of rego last month. horn needs to be replaced, speedo stopped working while at tuners haven't looked to see if simple fix or not. it will need to be lifted up as its sitting on ultra low springs, i reckon it will need rear trailing arm bushes. not sure on rules with surge tank in boot or hole in t/cover for vernier adjustment but t/cover easy to replce it passed a rwc 12 months ago with a std turbo, same cooler and same 3" exhaust.
