separating my race car from my road car build up as its confusing
plan was to build a 3e production car to enter in combined touring on a budget of fuck all(mainly cause i had alot of spare parts in my shed)
paid stuff all for a registrable shell(cheap as because it had the usual rust)
basically like all race cars we stripped the shit out of it
jenna flogged anything decent and stuck it in her road car
more stripping
removed most of the crap that was not needed, put alloy bushes in the rear cradle, hicas clock kit and minor mods to the front to get 4 degrees of camber
sent it off for a basic cage
cage painting is a SK of a job
some new brakes(brembo on the rear)
first attempt at oil cooler placement also radiator
dash version one
shlapped it all together with a frontcut motor form a "reputable sydney import joint"
sure enough the engine that was "fine" and "if it not we will look after you" turned out to have no oil pressure.... and they looked after me by telling me to get stuffed
dead motor out(race gtr owners are very good at R&R.. so i am told)
so anyway i bought a spare wrecker motor from japan and slapped it in
after chasing my tail for a week i discovered the intake manifold gasket need to be replaced (prick of a job)
the day before a 6 hour regularity and it was finally tuned
252rwkw at 13psi...252.5k or exactly on cock power
and finally the race car had its first outing
couple of issues (the bad)
the accelerator pedal fell off(looks like i didnt tighten those bolts)
if revved over 6k the breather would oil up the rear turbo and go through the engine and out the exhaust(definatley needs a catch can)
car would only do 8 laps before fuel surge (ghetto mod to fuel pump got it across the line at the track)
single peice tail shaft is not balanced i think which is quite annoying (turns out i just didnt tighten up the bolts on the flange at the back... that could have been very nasty)
fire extinguisher tried to escape a few times
once it rained the window fogged up like a bitch
the good
car went hard all weekend even though we could only rev her to 6k
stoptech brakes were awesome
for a first shakedown a 1:10.1 on 3 year old ku36's and only reving to 6k with heavy traffic is fine
anyway enough bullshit here are some pics
i got a tad excited as i had a week beofre going os for 3 months so i slapped on some "n1" turbos, catch cans, re-did the dash, kill switch, oil cooler, surge tank and had it re-tuned in a week. now with 309rwkw at 17psi and shit not falling off i took it out to a circuit club day.... did one lap and oil everywhere
turned out to be a cracked oil line (must have happened when i swapped the turbos) so back home

also lowered the seat so they my head was not making love to the role bar
anyway as it stands now its ready to go once i getback from os i would like a high 1.07 at wakefield and a 47 at ec on ku36 then ill get some proper semis and enter it into the combined touring next year
now were up to date future plans
1st change the oil
2nd thrash it hard, replace every bush as they are fucked, new sway bars possibly, possibly new struts as the one in it are just some hks shit i found in the shed, get it corner weighted, and install the front and rear lsd i have in my shed
i think as it stands its cost about 15k
20k is you count the spare 33 motor inthe shed and the rebuild motor in my front room that are ready to go in once the wrecker motor blows up
