Lol, mate of mine had a elgt hydratrak in a hotted up coon, thing was shit till he binned the hydratrak... They rely on a speed differential to proportion the torque, so it'd start spinning the inside rear, push the torque to the outside rear, step out and then repeat the sequence, you just couldn't hold a smooth continuous slide in the thing...

I think Hitachi is a bit better at making diffs than BTR though.

You probably don't want to spend the extra money and a CIG locker will do what you want but Quaife make a torsen type R230 center. Love my torsen, grips around corners yet does even twin spinners on demand.

Lol, I don't think cracka can spell budget.

Also we've had the torsen discussion and he's a pretty stout clutch pack fan.

I wonder if he still has plans of this thing being a weekend type car instead of just a skid pig...

Its tighter than any viscous I've ever seen, and also twice as big. The planetry set is huge compared to the pissy viscous subaru and nissan diffs. 300zx's spin two all the time...

if they are the same design as the s13/14 VLSD's it can be shimmed up pretty cheap, like 100 - $200.

Been doing a bit on this when I can. Finished mounting and welding the rear subframe to house the R230 diff.

The crossmember has to come down about 20mm so the diff can clear the fuel tank, I am using Outback spacers for that.

Also decapped one of the injectors and had it flow tested next to a std injector. Stock injector flowed about 280cc, decap flowed 560, both with excellent patterns. Cracka will be able to run E85 if he wants with the decaps.

    Lol

Ok. let me lay it out.

Less CV angle, the diff is sitting maybe an inch lower than standard and the hubs are not moving from stock location.

I'll repeat for the engineer - rear hubs are not moving from stock location therefore wheels remain in exactly the same location relative to the body as stock.

Sorry, no 31" mudders. Maybe some 235/40 17 RSRs

Yes as constant velocity shafts are never meant to move.

Have done some work on this.

Pulled the lower manifold to remove a no longer required heater pipe and sort out the knock sensor wiring(only using the inner two of the four).

Turned down the snout of the davies craig EWP to allow it to fit between bottom radiator tank and bits of engine and turbo.

Started the wiring yesterday, half of one of two looms wired. Need to consult Vipec tech to figure how to wire the injector pairs. Have figured out which Crank sensor to use with the help of Dale. Using the LH sensor which puts the two missing teeth at 180 BTDC instead of 0BTDC for the RH sensor.

Where does the front six spark plugs connect? Does it come directly out the bottom of the coil?

Yes they drop into the plug tube. Pretty common on late toyotas.
