I had 2 brand new skirtsters LOL

    2009 and 2010

One broke down with 100km on the clock, but was collected and repaired that day, you get free roadside with a new Harley

The other I thrashed heaps, not one issue!

Old man is a Harley mechanic and enthusiast... But he lives 800km away so his expertise is useless to me...

I wouldn't by an Asian cruiser unless you wanted something like a M109 performance wise or a roadliner cos they are awesome, there really is no cruiser like a real Harley.

Nice skid but it looks like they have the front wheel resting on something to stop the bike moving forward? I like bikes to be able to skid on the front brake.

I'm not big on the M109. They look okay but I don't think they sound right. Then there's this:

    MEASURED TOP SPEED
    V-Rod: 137mph
    M109: 128mph

    0 - 1/4 MILE
    V-Rod: 11.38sec
    M109: 11.62sec

    0-60MPH
    V-Rod: 3.52sec
    M109: 3.65sec

    0-100MPH
    V-Rod: 8.22sec
    M109: 8.87sec

    POWER TO WEIGHT
    V-Rod: 1:5.99
    M109: 1:7.26

    BRAKING 60-0 MPH (FEET)
    V-Rod: 109.5
    M109: 135.4

    Thanks for the Specs....

Looking at what people are asking for used night rods, and with teh current price drops- a 2012 model seems like the go.

A cruiser without a turbo is gay.

There's a late model Harley getting around Chermside way with a turbo. It is epic win. Smokes the rear in just about any gear he likes.

    Do want.

I sat on a Victory Hammer S in the dealership a few months back, the bike felt quite light compared to my XR1200 when in reality the Hammer is about 70kgs more so they carry their weight low. I thought the finish on them was pretty good too. That said, my harley has been fine that way too, they are just heavy bikes. I wanted a Vrod until I rode one, awesome bike in a straight line but the long wheel base meant that it didn't like turning so much.

These are cheap at the moment.....if you like the retro custom look.

Looks like i'll be placing my order on monday for a 2012 built/plated night rod special. Will have to wait a couple of months for it to come in-Give me plenty of time to start collecting upgrades for it.

Thinking pipe/Tune, Airbox cover with gauges moved into it, drag bars, Arnotts susp-lowered... Would like a 300 rear but keep hearing how shit it will be to ride..

Bloke just started riding one of these Honda's to work. See it in the carpark quite often. Looks pretty cool but it sounds a bit weak with standard pipes. Would like to hear it with no OEM muffler gayness.

The japs can't help themselves and they make them run smooth- the harley's sound is from firing both pots in one half of the cycle.. Take the pipe off and they sound shit.

That's the bottom of the barrel too.. 883 iron

If I were buying a Harley I'd go for an xr1200x or night rod

That actually looks like a forty eight-which is a 1200. the new 883's have cast wheels.

Forty eight's have a fuel capacity of 8 litres. A "cruiser" type bike with a range of less than 100km seems insane to me.

Ave fuel consumption is rated at 5l/100km, so approx 160km range, but that is cutting it very fine...

Goodluck getting 5L/100km... my Daytona uses more than that with half the capactity and considerably less weight.

Haha, good point. One would hope the partnership is a little more stable than Harley and Buell. Polaris seems to be in a pretty strong position though.

It turns out my ER6N Limited bike has big bang... doesn't seem to help much... Seriously thinking about taking the little Kwaka engine down to TK to see what can be done.

My personal favorite when it comes to big bang engine configuration sound is:

Making an inline-4 sound like that is all kinds of awesome.

But unlike a jap bike, you don't have to practically give it away in a few years...

The 883 I was running was doing 5L/100km with 130kg rider flogging the piss out of it...

See one of these parked at work regularly, looks quite nice for a tractor.

I'd probably own one for a cruiser.
How ridiculous are the Aus prices compared to US retail! Just like everything else I guess....

You'd have to flog the piss out of the 883 so you didn't get passed by scooters... Forty-eight obviously doesn't have the 883 either so unlikely to do 5L/100km.

Order placed for this today Will arrive mid april.

Must admit i was pretty impressed with the look of the 883 superlow while at the dealership-but it would definately require quite a few mods straight up.
