Got the intake manifold cleaned up and tighten in place. Need to order a few fittings this week to finish off the port fuel lines. Fuel tank cleaned out ready for a tank for of methanol. Turned over the motor to prime the oil pump and filter. Made a couple of adjustments to the nose cone to get it to fit.

To be honest I couldnt tell you. I never removed the head. Only check bearing wear after I brought the motor.

Had another big day working on the car. Finished making all the port fuel lines, tighten both turbos and fittings, fitted the intake pipe work. Pretty much just need to add fuel, some water and give it some ignition. Hopefully I get the chance this week to fire it up

Spent a few hours over the weekend paint stripping the steering arms, brake arm and cam covers back to bare metal. This only leaves the chassis, diff housing and wheelie bar to be sand blastered. Once these are done and look good to leave bare, I think I will leave them that way.

Been pretty quiet lately. Cash is always a good indicator on how much work you can get done. Got the chassis, wheelie bars and diff housing sand blastered recently. Started sanding back and steel wool the steel work today on the wheelie bars and diff housing. Got the wheelie bar done and finished. Started putting the diff housing back together, just need a couple of new "O" rings and it also should be finished.

Hopefully start the chassis next weekend

Had a great weekend working on the car. Dont get to do much on it at the moment (might have something to do with no money lol) but I got to spend a few hours each day over the three days off. Managed to accomplish some jobs and put back in the Qld Performance Automatic Powerglide, shifter with datalogger and AMS1000, run the wiring, fuel line, install the EGT temp into the gearbox sump and change over the transbrake / gear shifter buttons on the steering wheel.

Now just need a diff centre (currently with Ray at Western Suburbs Diff) and a rebuilt motor and than I am off racing. Well only if it was that easy

The motor has been rebuilt and now back in place. The journey begins to piece it back together. Hopefully wont be too long we hit the track.

Will be interesting to see if you get anywhere near the boost your after with those GM coils, Id save your self much pain and upgrade to a good CDI and 6 quality coils now. What is seen in the pics is a budget road setup sorry. Good luck with the project.

As the motor is a distributorless motor and I have chosen to go with mechanical fuel injection, the ignition is from Electromotive Engine Controls. Changing the coils aren't an option with this ignition. I am only chasing about 1200HP on about 40psi once tuned. Since I'm not chasing high boost the ignition should be ok. If not, I will set up and run a belt drive distributor off the cam shaft with a MSD Digi ignition. I dont like to follow others so no EFI.

Ive had problems with the GM coils by 600hp, Just trying to help as Ive done this many times before. Methanol and boost really need a lot of Spark.

we tried the LS coils in the brother's 2JZ KE70 setup a couple years ago, it didn't like it too much around 36psi (1200hp) E85 EFI it had a 2ms dwell time which we think it couldn't produce enough spark, it was blowing spark out around mid track when it hit full boost. just went back to the M&W CDI and coils and it was fine.

    you might have better luck.

LS coils need 4+ dwell time. I use them often.

SR20 powered rail in WA is close to 7s with about 450rwhp, Slicks and Converter dont give a clear reading on the Dyno tho.
