    Cliffs:
    Good place to work
    Don't pay as much as some others like MAC (take home ~$2k/wk)
    New gear is always a nice thing to have
    Small maintenance crews, about 7-8. Small operator crews of ~50. (MAC is 50 in the workshop and 300 on prod on average)
    Bosses aren't too bad, can be a little cuntish from time to time

    I do, was paying 350 for 2br unit which was newish. Now paying 470 for a 4br joint. massive house, new with ducted etc etc. Exxy but not a great deal to choose from. You ever wanna positively gear a rental, buy in muswellbrook/singleton!

    I got in with little to no experience. We're pretty bloody desperate. Yeah you got to live no further than scone/singleton/merriwa basically. Though we do have one guy who comes from willow tree.

    Some say yes, some say no. I got a crank with xstrata with only 7 months exp. in a chpp. If in your interview/assessment you prove that you are willing to get in and have a go, learn shit, say the right safety shit you can pretty much get a crank anywhere!

    Probably wouldn't bother calling them, they'll say you'll have to keep checking their website.

    I can tell you however that if you go to seek, search 'bhp' in the newcastle/maitland/hunter region you'll find a couple of positions for maintenance planners currently advertised

    Funny you should mention... Both our planners (mobile equip and heavy equip) just handed their notice in, at the same time.. So there will be positions shortly..
    However they did that for a reason, superintenant planning is a funny one



    So last week I emailed my supt. two good references for a cousin and a friend, one was allowed to apply after closing date, both decided not to apply after asking me to put in a good word..
    Both can now go and get fucked up the ring gear with a top fuel conrod.
