You guys seem to forget Cal hasn't been given squat. He's paying for his drive.

^this is true.
It's not in the manual yet because we were only given the green light to run it the day I started this thread. That document was produced a few weeks before then. Why would you give a fuck either way Harry? You should become a CAMS official, they like cock blocking. Like the Daytona, we also have to trim the wings to meet the 2B specifications.

No one's mentioned whether Cal's paying for his drive. If you think that's relevant, you're missing the point by a very long way.

yeah, eligibility committee member getting an inelgible car on the grid is cool. Pointing it out is the dick act.

If there is a list of approved cars to refer to then it should be up to date but practically that could not be expected to happen on a day to day basis. Perhaps current eligibility applications should be made available on a website? Complicated.
As for Harry, perhaps he should just be another one of the endless boring 'oh how wonderful' mob![]()

A fair point, but I would think anyone who is actually in a position to run a prod sports car would probably be in a position to know what was going on in the category first. As opposed to someone with an internet opinion who lacks comprehension skills and runs in sprint events in an entirely different category.
A lot of people think dogs are stupid, but they're actually pretty smart. When was the last time you heard of a dog stepping in human shit?
lol, I am in a position to run a 2B sports car but can't as its not on the eligibility list. Sprint & Hillclimb rules are exactly the same as racing rules DavidI except that they're more strictly enforced at Club Hillclimbs than racing it seems. Perhaps someone with no idea about any of these things should keep their internet opinions to themselves.

there's also very specific CAMS rules about how and when protests/complaints can be lodged.
the last word on the thread would be CAMS issuing the bulletin, not someone saying they submitted something to CAMS. No bulletin, no eleigibility. There was very nearly a disater with IPRA tyres bulletin earlier this year...
the apparently "hopelessly out of date" eligibility list that was last updated 17/02/2012 has just been updated again today to add the R35 GTR to the Eligible Vehicles List:
http://cams.com.au/en/Sport/~/media/...es%20List.ashx
yes, hopelessly out of date...
The following paragraphs in the prodsports regs outlines the process in situations such as the one you have listed:
(iv) Competitors are reminded that possession of a CAMS Logbook does not constitute compliance with, or eligibility for, Championships conducted under these Regulations. The Association reserves the right to exclude any ineligible cars from the pointscore.
(v) It is up to each competitor to ensure that his or her car meets the eligibility criteria for the class and category in which the car competes. Where members have any doubts about eligibility they are strongly advised to seek appropriate advice from the Technical Commissioner and CAMS.
(vi) A vehicle considered to be ineligible by the Technical Commissioner or other appropriately qualified individual appointed by the Committee will be given a written report and a reasonable amount of time to remedy the problem. This time allocation will be at the sole discretion of the Technical Commissioner and may be as short as the next race or race meeting. The vehicle will not be eligible for points until rectified. Any dispute between a member and the Committee concerning eligibility shall be referred to CAMS for adjudication, whose decision shall be final and binding on the parties.
(vii) In the event of an eligibility issue arising, concerning the vehicle of a Member who is also a relevant Office Bearer of the Association, then that Member shall stand aside from any relevant PSCRAA position for the duration of the section of the Committee meeting concerning said Member’s vehicle.
Any potential competitor building a car for Prodsports that has questions about its elligibility and does not first consult Prodsports only has themselves to blame. By having been given the green light I am sure Cal is referring to having had the vehicle passed by the technical commisioner. By accusing Cal of being underhanded does not serve any purpose here at all other than to make you look foolish.
No doubt you will circle around again using being accepted at a hillclimb. Same story, if you feel that your vehicle should be elligible become a member of Prodsports and have your car looked at by a technical commisioner. With the appropriate paperwork from the appropriate person there's nought an MGCCQ official could do to not allow you to compete as a sports car.
That's for ProdSports Assoc Regs, not CAMS 2B Marque Sports or 2F Production Sports. The Supp Regs for the Bathurst event says "For cars complying with the Technical Regulations for 2nd Category – Sports Cars, Group 2B - Marque Sports Cars and Group 2F - Production Sports Cars as published in the current CAMS Manual of Motor Sport".
Your post is irrelevant to both this event and hillclimbs.
The 6-8 April Bathurst meet is also a round of the NSW Prodsports championships, so the regs that I posted (interestingly each page has a CAMS watermark) are very relevant to the discussion at hand.
there's an obvious difference between the list being hopelessly out of date and what year model the car's they are adding are. The list was updated today. That's as current as it is possible to get.

No you are right, I made it all up. I'm not really driving it at Bathurst at all.

This is not one of their state rounds. Its a standalone National event. It, like any event, runs to the rules specified in its Supp Regs. In this case, CAMS 2B 2F.
Each page has a CAMS watermark because it obviously would have been submitted to and approved by NSW State Council... why is that interesting?

Perhaps it is worth keeping in mind that the Bathurst round is not just for 2b sportscars.. This is what it says:
Eligible vehicles are those which comply with the 2012 CAMS Manual Group 2B Class
I, Group 2B Class II, Group 2F or Group S regulations and cars meeting the specific
criteria listed in paragraphs b) c) d) and e) below.
So it is for 2b production sports cars, plus some non 2b cars based on some extra criteria in the cue sportscar handbook.
Go the fact that it isnt a CAMS 2b car doesnt be matter at all.
farkin hell. politics.....Cant get away from the bullshit. Enjoy your drive at Bathurst Cal even if you are a big fat cheating cunt![]()

"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."
See you at Bathurst Cal - hopefully for more than about 2 mins like at the 12 Hour LOL.

That's not in the Bathurst event's Regs. They only mention 2B 2F as per the current CAMS Manual.
Ah, I see that's from the Prodsports draft enduro handbook which is actually Standing Regs for their events. Still stinks to high heaven - paragraph d) is the only one that could help this car. It allows any car if a CoD is provided and the car is approved by the committee. Cal is on the committee... Ginetta owner is no fool. How to get your car approved...
