    Best source for BMW brakes? (E46 330i)

    Hey all, the brake pad warning light just came up on the family hack (E46 330i sedan).

    No doubt being euro it will need the full deal - pads, rotors, and pad wear sensors. Correct?

    is it worth buying anywhere local or just go for an interwebz source?

    eg:

    (plus probably need extra lube for shipping heavy parts from the US)

    for example (the latter's website pricing is a bit fubar, the listed AUD price is about 2.x times the UK pound price if you change currency)

    Also is there anything worth knowing about these cars? I saw a yootoob video saying you need a 7mm allen key to get the callipers off - who the bork has one of those?

    Yeah, fucking 7mm Allen keys are needed. I sourced a 3/8th drive Allen from glenfords. You'll need more leverage than a plain key offers anyway.

    Just wanted to give a big shout of thanks to Clickable Automotive for BMW parts.

    Based in Melbourne, $10 local shipping that took 1 day (well, ordered Sunday, delivered Tuesday).

    I had spent ages getting burned by a UK shop, and while parts from the US were cheap the shipping was several hundred dollars. Clickable worked out much cheaper once that was accounted for. In all, highly recommended.

    Did the install DIY, bought a $10 allen key set from Bunnings that had a 7mm in it. That plus a ring spanner as an extension did the trick. No problems with install except one blocked bleeder screw, but the fluid looked good anyway so CBF bleeding it all, and trying to crack the wheel nuts that had been done up by the local gorilla.
