    I have just fired off a quick email to Speedcafe about whether they might write an article on the issue.

    As i see it this would give us a good article to refer people to when they ask, and also a way of being able to push it via a Motorsport friendly site.

    Would be good to be able to point drivers and teams towards as well, especially STR/RBR and Dan/Mark. A quick RT from either of those would get TONS of views.

    Yes. I am 100% sure that Mark Webber will cut his own commercial throat by publicly criticizing the broadcaster of the sport he lives in.

    THE Ten Network has outraged Australian motor racing fans after pulling its Formula 1 and Moto GP coverage from high definition (HD) digital channel One in a bid to boost "Super Sunday" ratings on its main channel.

    Social media sites such as Facebook went into meltdown after Ten told fans they could now watch races on the main channel, which is broadcast in standard definition.

    The new schedule will start this weekend when the Grand Prix circus descends on Bahrain, followed by next weekend's round of the Moto GP motorcycle series.

    Ten will continue to broadcast race qualifying live on One HD the day before the race while the second and third tier Moto GP 2 and Moto GP 3 series will also remain on One in HD.

    Aside from losing the live HD feed, fans have also been angered by the fact that races in some parts of Australia will be delayed in order to fit with Ten's 9.30pm telecast time.

    Many fans have purchased live F1 timing and telemetry applications they run on second screens to coincide with the live race -- apps which will be rendered redundant by the delayed broadcast.

    Last month The Australian revealed Ten was considering plans to move the delayed race broadcasts on to the main network forward to 9.30pm.

    Just days later the network confirmed decision, but said that races will still be broadcast live on One in HD.

    However, the struggling network has reneged on the decision as it scrambles to maximise advertising revenue and viewer numbers.

    A spokesman for Ten said the decision would give more viewers the chance to catch races live.

    "Yes, at the start of this year we did say all races would be live and in HD on ONE," the spokesman said. "That was before the decision was taken to run some races on TEN on Sunday evenings. That decision brings the races to a wider audience and - of course - is designed to lift our post-9.30pm Sunday audience numbers. We are, after all, a business!"

    But race fans have been outraged at the decision to dump both live broadcasts Australia-wide and stop the high quality HD broadcasts.

    Stewart O'Connell was one of more than 300 people to voice his anger on Ten's Facebook page.

    "Absolute disgrace channel Ten....do you guys have any idea how to treat your viewers?"

    Others said they would stream the races live from other sources.
    "And you wonder why people rather download illegal shows and streams instead. tisk tisk, enjoy the rating drop," Aaron Westlake said.

    Anyone know where Lachlan Murdoch lives in Sydney? Someone should deliver a nice message to his front door.

    The beeb feed from their website with a VPN is best quality I have had (but only 10 live races from teh BBC), You can find some decent SKY HD feeds that on my 55" plasma I can read the times and names still when on the couch, I consider that pretty good for making do, They pop up on VIPstand, and sometimes you can find a good justinTV link with a bit of luck.

    Please if anyone finds links to good sopcast streams when practice/quali/race is on, please post them. Sopcost streams are the fuckin' bomb. SD quality maybe not, but waaay beyond shitty little box videos embedded in a webpage and blown up to fullscreen, that's for sure.

    Keeping in mind sopcast streams are often about 1min delayed, but that's SFA in the scheme of things.

    edit: Here's a quick screenshot of a reasonable sopcast stream to give you some idea of the quality (assuming it's a good stream) - http://www.clubpoint.net/bluebird/.misc/Untitled.jpeg

    Yea Laptop hasn't got HMDI out but bought a VGA cable and going to use it into plasma and 3.5 into RCA for sound to amp

    Ok so I just went to VIPBOX and started watching some table tennis and it was fine, so does this mean it will be ok for Q and Race or can they block us via magic and shit?

    don't bother. Placement of commercials is about not placing advertisements for products and
    services that are of particular concern or sensitivity in inappropriate programs. ie, no beer ads during Playschool. Its not about them placing commercials in a part of the race you wanted to see.

    don't bother comlaining to them about the "live" thing either:
    6.12 “Live sporting event” means:
    6.12.1 live-to-air sporting broadcasts, including breaks immediately before and after the
    broadcast;
    6.12.2 sporting broadcasts delayed for time zone reasons and broadcast as plausible
    “live”, without reformatting;
