Holden Barina SB 1997 Fuel Consumption issue?

HI all, I have a Holden Barina SB 1997 1.4i Manual, car has done 103,000, full service history one owner etc.

The problem is, it only gets 300Km per tank, very easy driving, the tank is around 45+ litres as well so it's pretty pathetic economy. Example my Excel 1.5 Auto gets 500kms from a tank 38 Litres.

any ideas what could be wrong, no CEL's or anything.

    Cheers.

Coolant temp sensor? Check the vacuum line that goes from the manifold to the MAP sensor, they always perish and fall apart which causes them to do wierd shit.

Done spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter? Start with the basics. If its got an airflow meter (can't remember) give it a wash with brake clean or caby cleaner. Also dumb shit like tyre pressure and check the brakes aren't dragging. Even try disconnecting the battery overnight to reset the computer. If there's no improvent then yeah probs an oxy sensor or airflow meter

Yeah coolant temp sensor, located in the radiator. They like to get covered in the crud thats built up in the radiator. Also the radiators like to block up easily.
