    turbo header fabrication Perth

Now that I am again gainfully employed, I can get back to the important business of improving the Muzzy

Am looking for recommendations for someone in Perth to fab the pipework for a single turb on a 66 Mustang, hot and cold side. Would normally do it myself, but no longer have the facilities to do so, so I must pay someone else. Its fucking tight in there, it'll be a cunt but I know its doable, but I guess I will need to have a chat with someone smarter than me about this.

    Anyone?

yeah, no dice, and the few I have seen are crappy quality.

Theres a guy on turboforums who is fabbing them, but they are made to retain a/c and p/s and is recommended to ditch the swaybar. Fuck that.

To simplify I am going manual steer and have no a/c. that gives room up front, doesn't help space between shock towers though

Serious/stupid suggestion: Send the car to Dale?

Ive lost count of how many times Ive heard people getting ripped and re-doing shit, losing alot more than interstate car transport in the meantime. If youre about to pay for the whole job it might be feasible, probably less so if you actually just need manifolds. I shudder the think about poor Bernie before he ended up spitting the dummy and just sent his car down to Dale from Qld.

Would be a PITA but thats what you get for living in the arsehole end of the country.

Oi! hardly arsehole end, though its full of them

Yeah, would love to just send it over and be done with it, but i doubt that its really a practical solution.

Do you want the whole turbo job done by someone or are you sourcing a few parts and doing it yourself?

Itd be $1k-ish each way for transport I guess. Only time it would really be feasible is if it stops you having to re-do the job after throwing $10k at some monkey who fucks it up.

Would make getting little adjustments/etc by someone who knows the car basically impossible though.

I am really not sure how far to take it. I am tempted just to throw it at someone and come back all done and dusted, but at this stage I am just looking at headers for now. It'll be a single turb so intercooler and piping should not be difficult.

looks like these guys would be worth the chat to at least. I do also want to add a half cage plus a couple other bits and pieces, so it could work well.

OT but while I have all you Perthians in one thread, anyone sent a crate to the east coast? If so, who'd you use?

I sent an engine to, and received one from, Perth with e-go no problems. Was $280 either way depot to depot. Your crate will be lighter than an engine, but the size will cost you (cubic weight). Get a quote on the website.

What about rear exit shorty headers swapped left to right so they exit at the front, then make a y pipe to the turbo? Heaps of the late model stang cunts in the states do it

Yes, this is one way, but you obviously haven't seen the lack of real estate between engine block and those fucking strut towers the early Mustangs/falcons have. Otherwise that would be the way to go. You can do the shorty header thing with 67 and up Mustangs.

Thus the only option I have is to either fart about and try and find something that fits, or just get a set made up.

Yeah, N/A has always been my thing, but ultimately the potential of turbocharging is too great to ignore.

Lets see anyway, it may be mission impossible without major fucking around, got to talk to people first
