    Territory AWD Pad Selection

I have got a customer with an AWD Territory that is used to do a lot of towing (horse float).

I threw a set of Bendix HD pads into the front of it less than a year / 20 000km ago with machined rotors and they are now nearly worn out (pads that is).

Any suggestions for a pad which might last longer, hopefully without killing the rotors in short order?

QFM HPX? I have them for the navara and they aren't bad, but aren't as good as a proper performance pad.

I've done 20,000 + km on them, and have heaps of meat left... I'm waaay hard on brakes and tow regularly (2-2.5 tonne is not unusual).

I prefer A1RM though, but they are dusty and rotor wear is higher- 40,000 km and rotors are toast..

TRW pads are fine for road use, a bit better than A1RM's in my opinion. Have used both.

hahahahha... hilarious... I wouldn't use TRW pads to stop a billy cart on a flat road.

1 stop from 140 km/hr- 40 km/hr in the navara and they were dead and gone- and were useless from that point on and were a crumbly mess when they came out- which they did immediately proper pads arrived.

HPX I can get 2, and they start to go off, but they recover, A1RM I get 4- 5 and with cooling they recover.

Have used both on the track Z braking from over 200kph so the rotors blue up, both stand up OK but the TRD's overall performance is a bit better. And I am not the only one who uses TRD's as a track pad successfully. So haha to you too

I use standard ford pads in our terri, never experienced any issues even when towing a 1500kg van and they lasted about 80000km. New set just gone in and they seem a bit dustier than the last lot, so who knows if the formula is the same - performance seems fine thou'

a territory is hard on brakes without towing shit all over the country. and driving technique often makes it worse.

id say they should be lucky they are getting 20k out of the pads. dont territorys have warping problems like the falcons? id use a pad like TRW's, and fuck the discs, they will be fucked by the time the pads wear out anyways.

Surprisingly the discs haven't warped. I was expecting them to be rooted. Talked to the owner today and we will probably just throw another set of the HDs in as the mileage out of them isn't too bad considering the use.
