LN130 surf daily/camping hack

so this is my surf, very basic
its a 1993 ssr-x widebody 2.4 manual with a busted transfer case.
its got 31 x 10.5 maxxis 771 which for the price i find very good
arb style front bar, spare rear tire rack
110L AUX fuel tank, rear air spring helpers for towing / big loads.
things to go on
thats about all really, got a decent sized roof basket to go on. rebuild the side steps as they are rusted out
r32 intercooler mod, 13 psi boost, 3 inch exhaust and a 2 inch body lift, then 33s.
basic, slow and chews diesel, fucker doesnt stop in the mud but. i like it alot and love the wagon

Was it factory widebody or someone just put the bits on? I thought they all had 2-tone paint

I'm tossing up whether to fix the 2LT-E or put a 1UZ in mine atm. 1UZ is looking like the winner at the moment. Want to buy my old exhaust?

whats your exhaust again? and the big question, $$? lol
im not sure about the widebody, i know my flares are fibreglass and look different to other surfs so maybe just aftermarket items and then the front has been changed, the flares are only held in by like 5 screws into the fenders, doesnt look OEM to me

also you can just buy the cheaper, and older 2LT and bolt all the LT-E stuff over. or do the 3-5L which i wanna do eventually, but my engine is so healthy i can warrant a conversion for no real reason

You're not on the Sunshine Coast?

I got 2 1/4 inch from dump to gearbox, 2 1/2 inch back with straight thru muffler on the recommendation of 4th Surf (the now banned guru from ToyotaSurf.asn.au). Cost me $500, about 12 months of use and shouldn't be any dents or anything in it (I'm not into hardcore 4x4 stuff just fire trails and driving around paddocks hunting mostly).

Also got a Autometer pyrometer gauge (Cobalt series) at the same time which cost me $265.

Exhaust $300, pyro $150

Have you done the temp gauge mod or do you run an aftermarket water temp gauge?

That was my mistake I think, rad blocked and I cooked it, didn't heat up on the exhaust side so pyro didn't give me any indication. I bought a water temp gauge but the sender wasn't long enough so I put it in my Rolla instead

Yeah OEM the flares were rivetted on with 1 nut/bolt in the middle. Your's might be a narrow body like mine with the good bits put on, at least they went to the effort of putting on the dickey guard mirror for ya I'm pretty sure the factory wide bodies all had the silver two-tone paint.

I'm trying to work out what I'm gonna do and the cost at the moment. From what I've been reading the 3L conversion has issues with the CAS or something about it won't talk to the gearbox? ATM I'm thinking if I'm going to have to stuff around with it I might as well just spend a little bit extra and whack a 1UZ in. Seems to be simple enough, can buy mounts off the shelf, wirirng diagrams out the wazoo online and Soarer gearbox can be mated to Surf transfer for 4x4. If I sell off the turbo setup and some other parts I've got in the shed I'll almost have enough for a half cut there

yeah i read that about the 4th surf exaust, it makes no sense to me lol, ill talk to my minister of finance and war, but im about to have a kid in a few days so i dont think she is gonna be keen,
are you on the sunny coast too?
