VE SSV UTE - new daily

Was putting too many Kms on the pajero so decided the only sensible thing was to buy a 6L daily for the nopics.
she was looking at BMW 318's but i managed to talk her into this instead... still not sure how i managed that.
First impressions are great, i've driven a few VE SS's so knew what i was getting into really, but it continues to impress me so far.
so much torque, you can get into serious license losing territory very quickly!
it's totally stock, sounds ok, but too quiet for my liking though, see thread here i started about exhausts -> http://www.performanceforums.com/for...al-3in-exhaust

Paint has a few blemishes and a few car park dings but overall in good condition, the leather is like new.
Has VE E3(?) clubsport wheels. 275 on the back look small still, needs lowering in the arse.
heres a quick phone camera pic, will get some better ones once ive polished it - previous polish job is average to say the least.

so anyone with recomendations on servicing items i would be all ears, ie, type of oil, oil filter (genuine?) etc.
will get modded slowly, end goal is OTR intake/tune/zorst like every other VE 6L getting around. Might do the brembo's on the front first though depending on exhaust costs.

very nice, only thing I can say with mods for these is do it right first time. Worth the effort. To this day my car still brings a smile to my face considering it cost 2/5th's of fuckall in the scheme of things.

Nice ute, get some more pics up. Auto/man?

As above, get some proper mods done and you should be pretty happy with it. I miss mine a bit.

The brembos are also a really good mod when you do the cam/tune/exh... thing. and is it manual? because that would set it off.

I use the ryco filter (no part #), went fine and with a bit longer than should have change interval. can't remember what oil went in last time. mine seems sturdy enough after a reasonable amount of abuse. you hear a dozen answers from a dozen people on what exactly's best.

I used genuine holden filters and castrol edge 10-70(I think) oil. Changed it every 5k and never had a issue.

    thanks for the input guys.
just back today from a week over in indonesia, still havent taken any new pics, but heres one more crappy one that shows the wheels a bit better and the horrible ride height in the rear.
Took it for a thrash just then, and i can confirm that yes, it still puts a smile on my face.

wow that seems thick, after some googling tho i can see quite a few people run heavier weight oil with good sucess, yet many other use the light 0w30/40 stuff. so confusing.

Darwinchops, yes is a manual for sure, nopics wanted auto - but this came up at the right price, happy days for me..

    Nice, am jelly...

When i was looking, the cheapest manual was $5.5 more and that was a basic SS, SSV a lot more again... As much as it works ok with the turbs, going for a strap in a mates manual VZ clubbie made me remember how much i love rowing big fuck off 8 through the gears versus waiting for sped GM box to find its way there...

Ah well, stupid auto driving population not good for second hand hobos like me!

Waiting for tune/exh/etc and skid pics now...
