Was thinking the same - that's some seriously impressive speed. Either the guy is a gun steerer, it's making far more power than it should be, or a combination of both ?

How about the combination of a good driver, well set up chassis with good corner speed, reasonable power and relatively small frontal area and low drag? With the more durable AO50s the performance of the heavy front drivers doesn't drop off like it used to as well.

wooberry in the magna can steer very well.
it's got plenty of go, stops well, turns well and he has done a few laps a bathurst now which helps alot.
the only dyno style figures i have heard are around 230fwkw. they are not to heavy and are fairly slippery.
all of this adds up to a very competent package.

I watched the stream from over here in Spain on a shitty wifi via Ipad - was excellent to hear the RLMs crew commentating and the video was pretty reliable for the last hour or so. I wonder if erebus will take this form into the V8s. Sounds like the need to sign Berndt right up, what a strong effort by them. Totally agree re Bairdo - he is awesome in any car in any condition. He towelled the Asian Pork guys up at the Singapore GP last year.
A slow day at the track is better than any day in the office.

Wow, what a weekend! Just recovering now, but that is easily the best race meeting I've ever attended in Australia, ever better than the 24Hour.

Here are a couple of shots from the weekend. No photoshopping just straight of the P&S camera, so don't be too harsh with the criticism

The rest can be seen here:

How bizarre was it watching the gt cars doing 50 kays on slicks in the pissing rain ha ha!

It was a decent tv package i thought and the radio lemans commentators along with craill were entertaining. Next year it would be great if it was broadcast live.

Actually it was the Bathurst 12 Hour that broadcast it. Speedcafe just piggybacked the feed and helped to reach a further audience. They didn't actually do anything in regards to the live stream though.

The cost of a live 12 Hour broadcast is huge. Unless there's some mysterious benefactor who is going to pay for it, I see it as highly unlikely for a while. Not to mention a FTA station that would show it.

Continuing on from Bathurst, Peter Hackett has parted ways with Erebus, seems to be their decision not his.

And Bairdo gets his seat at Erebus for Clipsal, I had heard rumours about Hackett leaving but Im even more amazed to see Bairdo in a gullwing..
