    Wheel nuts: Conical vs Acorn???

Ok, I'm about to purchase some wheel nuts from ebay and I'm a tad confused with the types of seating existing for wheel nuts.

Is there a difference between 'Conical' wheel seat, and an 'acorn' wheel seat?
And is it the same as tapered?

My initial understanding was that there are only two types, flat, and conical/acorn.

But reading through the internet suggests that conical and acorn are different (no idea how) and there also exists a tapered (i.e. straight edged 'cone' type seat) and flat (which I can ignore)

Anyone care to set this straight?
    Wheels are for Rotas.

yeah there's a difference. conical/tapered have straight edges and fit into a tapered hole. acorn has rounded edges, and fits into a sphrerical hole. also known as ball-seat.

you will want conical (normal) nuts for rotas i believe

R31 Ti - Sun Visor, Venetian Blinds, Coilovers, Whiteline Bars, Wog Stance.

Cheers mate. I think there is a lot of misused terminology on this subject. For instance, the below are sold as Acorn type, but look straight edged 'cone' type to me.

    Another

That has 'acorn' and 'tapered' in the same pic and differentiates it to the rounded 'ball' type.
