Fuck me, that's the speed that ex-Greg Crick Nations Cup Viper I raced was doing at the chase at Bathurst!

Dunno, but this was the owner/drivers comment.

Today ended earlier than planned. At the end of the day the accident is my fault. Part of motor racing.

I dropped a wheel off getting back onto the racing line after overtaking someone. Mixture of brain fart and mechanical issue. The mechanical issue I knew about and should have driven around.

The car was quick we were down around a 59/60 second lap. Judging from the other cars we were running with.

Sorting out a second shell and getting on with swapping the parts over and getting it ready for WTAC.

A red mustang kissed the wall into the entry to carousel today. The Porsche club was there- some pretty nice cars circulating...

A r32 Nissan ended up in the tyre barrier at the entrance to the northern loop at time attack yesterday. Oh, and a excel cup car bounced off the barrier just passed the busstop. When I went out the track was pretty dry apart from the northern loop which was incredibly slippery. Mud in the pit bays didnít help with grip levels either.

There was quite a range of cars out there....

I pulled out of going yesterday. Didnít see the point in risking it when thereís no chance of setting a base time in the new car.

    From facebook:

    LAKESIDE CAR ROLL OVER -

Yesterday during the afternoon sprints, we all witnessed what happens when you take a street car onto a race track, hit the grass then the wall then roll a few times with no roll cage.

The guy driving this Renault was very lucky to walk away from this after rolling 2 to 3 times landing the roof.

I noticed another driver stopping to help so I guess it was bad and after seeing the car was on the roof, I had to pull over and help. The driver was rather shook up. The track medics got there fast and the official were quick to close the track to ensure no further issues.

All in all, good to see the guy walk away and by the look of the car, lucky to be alive I say.

Nah medic was there well before the tractor, at about 1'15" you see them walk down to the car with a small kit in their hand.

Looks like the track wasn't cleaned from another incident at the kink with all the grass and skid marks going across the track in the still images. Did the driver run through that grass and just understeer off the track onto the grass and then no hope of doing anything but collect the tyre wall?

Looks like it needs another few rows of lawn protection, I mean first-line tyre wall.

Nah the wheeltracks follow his car... I'd say oversteer into T1, hits grass, flicks it up onto the track, not enough grip on the grass at the speed he was doing to navigate between the tyre walls Kinda what happens at T1 SMP, albeit its usually full oversteer and either into the inside wall head on, or going backwards.

I think so too, clipped the kink a bit too close and grass has sprayed onto the track as the car reacted/deflected and speared towards the wall.

Either way, the kink seems a particularly critical part of the track to have grip compromised.

You usually there with Matt then? I'll need to drop in and say hi.

That's a huge off for the guy in the little Renault. He had no chance once he hit the wet grass though. Glad he is ok.

Sort of glad I had prior commitments and couldn't make it out to this round.
